I posted this clip of me playing "Pacifica" in another thread but I'm throwing it out here to get some feedback. Without having any other surf musicians to play with and my wife being slightly biased I have no real idea how I'm doing. I've been playing for three years now and songs are starting to come easier and more natural. My instructor never really said I was doing good or bad...I suppose if I suck he's thinking I'll quit and that's money lost. If I'm doing good then he keeps my head in check...who knows....please let me know what you think....good and bad it will all help. And yeah the recording sucks but its the only way I can record myself right now.
Thanks !

You're fine! It's a nuanced song and you don't go too overboard or too understated.

Thanks ! Ultimate goal is original stuff....want to get into Bass VI and Baritones....I have a Hellcat VI right now but its an animal to play at least compared to a regular bass. I'm not proficient with a pick just yet but its coming along.

Mike,
Pacifica is one of my favorite songs. You did a great job, nice work. If I lived in your area it would enjoy playing rhythm behind you. Keep working you're are on the right path.....

Nice playing. And the recording is mixed about right for .mp3 listening. You should hook up with a band.

tubes...Thanks for the vote of confidence....believe it or not its just a Tascam bass trainer played through my Ampeg BA115T with the bass/low freq cut on the Tascam...my Fender Amer Std P-Bass (with '62 pup) then recorded with a Sony DSC-5 Camera in video mode. It at least allows you to hear me play
I appreciate all the good words ! Head down and fingers plucking !
