Aloha,
what should I buy? A FRV-1 or a RI Tank? JUST KIDDING!
So we recorded an album about 1 1/2 years ago...2 CDs and I was quite satisfied with the result. Then the guy who plays the upright bass in these recordings broke up with us in our 'main' band where he plays the organ. The Hic-a-doo-las never broke up or anything, but in Facebook language our status is: It's complicated...
We'll even play a gig this Saturday after a year of, well, nothing.
Knowing that this recording will never be released (heck, most songs are cover songs anyway) I thought it might be a good idea to give it away for free...to sg101 members exclusively, of course. Some of you may know one of our songs as it is featured on the latest sg101 compilation.
Enough talking, here's the link: The Hic-a-doo-las
The file is password protected. PM me or use your brain. The password is in the text above.
Hope you enjoy it! Feel free to comment on our stuff. And improvement suggestions are very appreciated...I feel it's our duty to pass on information all the time, so we finally can build this spaceship and get the hell out of here.
P.S.: No FRV-1 or tank has been injured during the recording...

Hi Sancho
I tried to get the download to work 3 x but it failed each time (and there was no password prompt)
(It could be just my general incompetence )

mmmh, I'll try to upload the file somewhere else. There's no password prompt for the download, but when you extract the zip file (which didn't download) you will be asked for a password. Anyone else having the same issue?

Some progress! I managed to get the file to download (twice) but when the download was finished, it immediately said 'decompression failed' and when I tried to open the file manually it just says "Unable to Unarchive "Hic-a-doo-las.zip" into "Desktop". (Error 1 - Operation not permitted)."

That might be the issue...try unpacking it with the 'stuffit' expander. Should work! IF not, let me know and I'll upload it somewhere else in a mac friendly version.
@remora and hlieboff: thanks

I also had problems unzipping on a mac, but Stuffit took care of it no prob.
I'm looking forward to giving it a good listen, but my initial impression is that there is some good stuff here!
