Since you can't find many backing tracks online , I decided I'll make some myself.
First backing track is Black Sand Beach ( Surf Coasters version ).
The track has drums , bass and keyboards. No guitar , except for the harmonics part.
For those who are interested in this backing track , send me an email (thewaverider at att dot net ) and I'll send it to you.
I can't post it online due to copyrights.
Not sure if I posted this in the right forum section...

Hello Mr. cladinshadows, if you are still lurking about. I just thought I would let you know I helped a guy from France obtain your backing track. This was difficult as I don't speak French and he doesn't have a good grasp of English. He apparently found this thread via Google, and had to jump through the sign up hoops to get the track. He is a big Shadows and Ventures fan, and greatly appreciated the backing track. You made someone's day!

Good to hear that .
Thanks for helping the guy out and sorry for the late reply
Been busy working on our new cd that was released earlier this year.
And no , it's not surf music.

You're welcome for the backing track.
The drum parts were made from an existing ( surf style ) midi file . I used EZDrummer for the drum sound and recorded all the other instruments myself. Keyboard patch was 70's VOX . It was a quick recording without much mixing and mastering. I just needed a quick backing track to play along to. Recorded in Cakewalk Sonar . Guitar was recorded through a line6 PodxtLive . Regular Fender strat .

Forgot to mention that I recorded the keyboard parts through the guitar with a SONUUS guitar to midi converter box.

I sometimes use a multi effects pedal (rp250). Are there any effects that you feel would be suited for this fabulous tune?

I wouldn't use too many different fx for the lead tone. Actually , just a clean tone with reverb should be enough. You could add some fuzz to it to make it sound more aggressive . It all depends on what your personal preference is.
