Hi gang,
I am trying to work out Surf Nouveau by the Aqua Velvets and Blue Mountain by the Denvermen. If any of you play either or if you have tabbed out either (even partially tabbed them out) I would apprecieat anything you would be willing to share with me.
I won't say I am completely tone deft, I prefer to say I have relative pitch. It takes me a long time to find the right notes/chords to start working on a song. But after I get started, I am fairly good. I can tell if the pitch goes up a step or two. I just cannot identify what note that pitch is.
Anyway, if anyone has anything to help, I would appreciate hearing from you.
Talk to you later,
Norm

I can't help you, Norm, but I just wanted to say it's quite a coincidence you ask about the Denvermen, since driving from Fort Wayne, IN back home to Michigan yesterday, I had the Denvermen playing. I still think their one LP is the closest any band came in the '60s to sounding just like the Shadows, especially the Shads' debut record. Uncanny, really! Great stuff! Glad to see there are Hoosiers out there enjoying the Denvermen!

Ivan,
Pleased to meet you. I agree about the sound of the Denvermen approaching that of early Shadows. I think it is the use of the tremolo arm that has a lot to do with it.
Back in my college days, I spent some time in Ft Wayne. Use to date a girl from that whose father had a guitar shop there.
Later,
Norm

PolloGuitar,
Thank you. I was not even close. This song is my weekend project. Going to get it playable. I love the sound of that song.
I want to add that song to my play list. I just play at home for relaxation. Playing is how I release stress. I am a 24/7 caretaker for my parents, both in their 90s and both with dementia. They require constant monitoring. Any time I go anywhere, I have to get a nurse to come in to care for them while I am out.
Thanks again,
Norm
