This is the most majestic clip I have ever witnessed! Even if you are not a waterman I thought you may enjoy this.
Rock on!
Shadow

I don't know what is more amazing; the cinematography that makes these waves look like living, breathing, writhing giant organisms, or that someone was courageous enough to surf them.

Amazing!

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

That is totally awesome thanks for posting,
That Wave there is So beautiful, yet completely scary at the same time.
It's so thick you can almost feel the heft of it, thru the video.

here is a related video shot by the same guy I think.

The ambient music suited the slow mo photography perfectly and made an already dramatic shot all the better.Well done to say the least.

Yeah I really dig that tune. I wonder who it's by.

That is a really weird looking wave. The way it breaks is a bit weird (maybe its just the angle of the camera or a crazy wide angle lense). Also the water in front of the wave looks like a flat wall of water and curves really crazy. Also, I hear it's shallow and a lot of sharp reef too. Pretty ballsy stuff to ride.

Josh,
no yer right, it is a very weird break, in one of the big Surf Docs,
(can't remember if its "riding giants" or "step into liquid")
Laird Hamilton rides a pretty big one there, and says that the torrent of water going into that tube is insane, and its like a tornado sucking in.
It shows him putting down an opposite hand (sub-consciously) to keep from getting sucked up into it.

Edit, here is the clip,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYQQtxb8wv0&feature=related
go to 30 sec. in to see the part about Teahupoo
this shit is crazy, it gives me goosebumps to watch.
