MIJ Jaguar JG66B-118 for sale on ebay...
This seller was selling mad new MIJ strats/teles etc. so I emailed her to see if she could get any jags and she immediately put up this 66 RI as well as a JG-66-93 (the one without the block inlays) but the auction ends too early for me so I wont be bidding.
It sounds like a good deal, only 85 bucks shipping, brand new from Japan.

i got my AVRI Jag for 950.00 on ebay including shipping. It was considered a blem model, because of a small chip in the paint on the back, but still new.
I have seen used (great condition) american Jags and JM's going anywhere from 900 - 1,100 why not just go for the gold?

Agreed, You can get AVRI guitars for great prices on ebay if you hold out long enough.
I found my Jazzmaster for $900 in brand new condition with the case the case candy and plastic still on the pick guard.
There worth the wait and the few hundered more clams.

How long ago did you get it for that price? Lately I've been noticing the prices of Jazzmasters are rising quite a bit.

That was last April.
I haven't looked at JMs on the bay in a while but back then I was seeing them go for around $1200-$1400.
I just kept my eye on them and kept bidding my max, $900 untill I scored.

I can get a used Jag for around 9-1,000, or I can get a New MIJ Jag for 700. I really like the 66 RI with the Block Inlays, but that one is 800 new and Ive never seen those used (except here once)...If im gonna spend 1,000 I might as well spend 1,300 and get a spankin new 62AVRI from my local shop where they will give you free life-time set up...
Doesnt the 66 have Mustang saddles?

The AVRI Jaguar sounds, looks, and feels significantly more like the Real Thing than MIJ does (I've had more than one of all three types). Some people prefer the slightly smaller neck profile if the MIJ Jags and Jazzmasters, though.
The stock pickups in the MIJ's leave a lot to be desired, so factor the cost of a AVRI or Duncan pickup change into your decision. When you do that, the AVRI starts looking like the better investment. Not to mention much better resale down the road if you ever decide to move on to something else.
The 60's Jags and Jazzmasters never had factory installed Mustang saddles on stock guitars. I much prefer the stock saddles, which are height-adjustable. You can notch them with a triangular jeweler's file if you are an ultra-hard player.

^^ you won't regret that. Just check everyday for the next few weeks and you will find something. The hardest thing is getting a color you want, not a guitar at a great price.

Shaun you got your JM for a steal.
I've been watching them on Ebay for awhile now and recently a oly white AV went for more than what they go for new through Musicans Friend. I'll take any color for $900

honeslty its a hot & cold market. I have been hunting for AVRI Strats on ebay for a while, there has been times when they fetch no less than 1,100 and other times where you can score them for well under a grand. I really missed the mark a few times, I have been trying to score a sherwood green (they are discontinued) twice they ended in the 900's but I was not a good enough sniper.
PS I had no trouble getting my AVRI Jag on ebay, but again, its hot & cold. Patience will get you your guitar for much cheaper than book value.

Hey just to update...I recently got an mint AVRI Jag for 780 bucks. Its Black w/ turtle pic gaurd which ive only seen a couple of those. The thing was that the seller was mad sketchy; he had a zero feedback, mistakenly said it was an ash body instead of alder, and had really poor pics. I was the only one crazy enough to bid on it I guess.
