Does anybody know some really good live performances one might download, I am in the process of gettin' :
Surf Coasters Live at Double Down Saloon on 2005-03-06, so after that i might get something a bit different......??? Heaps of Mermen on there?

thanks
adam

There's a great recording of Man or Astro-Man? from the John Peel show. Killer stuff and really good audio quality...here.

The Disasternauts

There are a ton of Mermen shows up there. They can be hit or miss, especially the more recent shows. One of my favorites is one of the Cubberly Community Center shows (can't remember the particular date), that has probably their best performance of Emmylou Rides Clarence West Then South.

I'm sure this has been posted before but, here is a page with Dick Dale's Peel sessions. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/johnpeel/artists/d/dickdale/. I'd like to see these for download though....

Thank you, and today at my place, and in the car, the live bands playing will be:
Soarfcoaters, Shitones and Man or Astro!!

anybody have a particular Mermen session they real enjoy?

Thanks

Off the top of my head, I can't recommend a specific one (aside from the Cubberly Community Center show I mentioned earlier). In my opinion, I'd go with the older shows on Live Archive, rather than those from the last couple years. A lot of the recent stuff is really lackluster. I feel they were better when Allen Whitman was on bass.

I second Maritime Hall. I've also been enjoying the latest 19 Broadway performance from last September that I downloaded a little while ago. That one's a bit less subdued that the other recent stuff, and coincidentally (?) marks the return of Allen Whitman. Thumbs Up
