the point is?

Uhhh...

The point is... I think this song is a brilliant combo of all three genres. And it's worth at least a listen to those who frequent these forums. If you don't agree, at least say so. It appeals to me, so I thought I'd share.

Hi,

I dont want to bother you, but sorry, I dont hear a mix of those genres at all...
I like Garage, I like Surf and sometimes I like Metal (especially kind of Death Angel, Overkill, old Anthrax and so on...)
But your example is JUST metal. And it doesn`t keeps my attention very much...
I know your thoughts about mixing genres.
There are always interesting band outside who are working with Surf guitar sounds (never forget Dead Kennedys with their guitar player East Bay Ray. He always had a kind of surf sound!)

So, maybe in this forum such a band like "Two Wounded Birds" is more worth a discussion!?

What do you think about?

Definitely a surf basic. And for my ears mixed with a bit Garage and a kind of New Wave? In other songs they have got a nice "Cris Isaac" feeling!
But everybody hears different influences always I know.

cheers!

Twang cheers!

i kinda hear s little surf in the lead, sort of along the lines of works by e'strume'ental or maybe agent orange but i wouldn't classify it as anything other than rock......and i don't think it's a bad song. what language is this?

two wounded birds is definitely more surfy. i could almost imagine hearing them singing 'the bird's the word' at this speed. Smile

Hi Ralf!
Before I comment...your band The Kilaueas is one of my favorites. And I appreciate your thoughtful response.
I agree Two Wounded Birds is, without doubt, more surf/instro/punk style.
But, since I'm not a musician(but definitely a music fanatic)I am not quite so analytical. The most exciting music, for me, is a blending of energetic guitar styles---and sometimes lyrics... but only sometimes! To my amateur ear, Metal 60'an has elements of all these genres.
But it all comes down to personal taste.
Perhaps a better example of this band((which I never heard of before BTW) would be:

BTW, they are Malaysian
