Which guitar was used?

You can see Gibson right on the head, and I really don't think thats a bolt on neck. So, how did that happen ? It appears to have mini-humbuckers mounted with those Epi pickup mounts too. Ya got me. I've never seen this picture before and trust me, I've seen pretty much all of them, over the years. ALSO - I've got to say, I've never understood Carls thing with 12 strings. I mean, 12 strings are fun and cool and they serve a limited purpose, but it seems kinda like overkill to use them that much, particularly with a rock band. Carl started as really good surf guitarist with lots of Chuck Berry thrown in. Seems like as time wore on, the BB's became less and less guitar based. It's difficult to really rock on a 12 string. I googled that combo along with Carl & got the story; it's actually an Epiphone Riviera with a retrofitted Gibbo neck. He apparently had a couple of Epis refitted like this; interesting that he didn't just go with one of the Gibsons. Carl started as really good surf guitarist with lots of Chuck Berry thrown in. Seems like as time wore on, the BB's became less and less guitar based. It's difficult to really rock on a 12 string. Yeah I'd have to agree with that. David Marks actually commented about that in his book; When he rejoined the BB's & was under pressure to recreate Carls licks to a tee, he realized how much Carl had musically been painted into a corner.
