Guitar, Amp, Effects, Gauge Strings. Time to spill your guts.
Mine:
American Tele, with 12 gauges. Yes, I know the Tele is frowned upon, but she does whale. Fender Hot Rod Delux. Just ordered a Surf Tremolo, we'll see how that goes.

Instruments: CIJ Jazzmaster 66 RI (blocks, binding, & matching headstock, vint. white) Effects: Fender 63 RI Reverb Unit (switched tubes for NOS) Amps: Reverend Hellhound 40/60 head, into an Avatar 2x12 cab with Eminence M12's Wants: Danelectro doubleneck (bari/6-string) Last edited: Apr 14, 2006 14:20:39 |

Fender AV Jazzmaster with D'adarrio 15-65 flat wounds. Tuned D-G-C-F-A-D. Oh - sunburst with tortoise shell pick-guard. 69 Twin Reverb in a crappy head cabinet. Blackfaced. NOS Philips 7881A power tubes. Telefunken, Mullard and RCA pre-amp tubes (as far as I remember). Reverb doesn't work. I also have a Weber VST MASS, but found that it's very useful for recoding, but not for live work. I also have a 2X15 cab loaded with 2 JBL E-140 bass speakers. It's even bigger than the guitar cab. And heavier. And doesn't have wheels. My back-up guitars: I would have loved to: Ran —Last edited: Apr 14, 2006 11:37:13 |

wow, I am surprised a few responces on the dunlop light gauge picks. I love dulops, but preffer the heavy gauges 1.14 and up. Is this a personal pref or do surf players like to use thinner picks? I only listed my surf related gear, the rest would be irrelevant |

It used to be that surf players would only use heavy picks but I think there is a change in that mindset. The majority use heavier picks I believe but some people are changing. I used to use .46 Dunlop Nylons. I would still use them but I cut my thumb one gig because they are too thin. Blood all over the Jag. |

...i forgot the Mandobird VIII electric-mandolin... ... I modified it...now has 2 pickups...one an Arstrong lipstick tube, and the other the stock Epiphone single coil... sounds wicked cool through the reverberator! -dp |

Mine's just as simple: Fender Cyclone 2 Vox Wah pedal 80s Peavey Heritage (the bassiest amp I ever played) RotoReds 11s (thanks to this forum. And I will never use another brand of string ever again). |
