I just got the Madeira's "Tribal Fires", and found a copy of "The Huntington Cads Go Exotic".

Bob

Bob,
that is great,
where did you find Go Exotic, and how much was it?

Jeff(bigtikidude)

I got it used for $10.00 from an Amazon seller. Been looking for a reasonable copy for a long time. (There's another one there for $11.00). I also found a copy of "Spaghetti II" from an Amazon seller for $11.50, and jumped on it, but haven't received it yet. life is good!

Cool Bob,
seems like now that the economy is still rough,
people are selling OOP cds and LPs for a bit more reasonable prices.
When I heard of Go Exotic going for 50 bucks or more, that was crazy.

A good month so far for surf music! I've been listening to The Madeira for a couple weeks, just got The Bradipos IV, The Space Agency and The Deadlies. Reviews to follow.

Ferenc, your raving review of the Shockwave CD is what convinced me to pick it up, so I'm looking forward to your reviews of all of these. (Who knows, I might just pick up that Tribal Fires CD, too - though I doubt it, I don't think the band's all that competent....)

Yeah, I would never think of having that Hack band at the Convention.

You've clearly committed a terrible error in judgment....

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

Just to be sure everybody knows I am joking, and not insulting Ivan or the band.
I am very happy to have the Madeira on the SG101 convention,
and looking forward to seeing them play again.
They are always amazing, and awe inducing.

It was pretty clear. So was Ivan talking shit about his own band. It'd take a real special case to misinterpret both of those.

Pleasantly surprised to find all 3 of these new at the same place/time.

Nice score Fady! You probably know that third one has an extremely badass version of The Wedge!

and the Nocturnes stuff on Vol. 2 is pretty cool too.

Martin Cilia, Revenge of the Surf Guitar. My band mates and I saw him last weekend at Don's and he was amazing. Best $20 I've spent on surf music since buying PJ's Surf Drumming DVD.

Found this little gem on the bay. Cost a few more bucks than I would normally spend, but hey, that's what tax return money is for! Big Razz

My 80s surf collection is slowly coming along:

The flash on my phone is apparently dying. I'm nevertheless excited that I've found a cheap(ish) Surf Raiders LP.

After listening I really enjoyed it. It's a really solid trad album with no done-to-death standards. I like.

Just ordered this import "Eleki Karaoke Best Hits" (thanks for the recommendation, Rich!):

Luckily there was one left for $23 from a seller on Amazon, I really wanted this for the quality backing tracks.
