I bought it in 72/73 in the original store (house) before they moved across the street, they later moved to PCH near the Torrance airport. A friend worked at Hogan's and took me to the original Fender factory in Fullerton.

it, for me, anyway. Still, some of you might find it

you'd be so kind! Would love to read all those

Hmmmm, I think I'm actually detecting some Jag-GAS here, hahaha... check your inbox, by the way.

I did have some fleeting thoughts, but nah, I remain a Strat guy all the way! But if I was ever to buy a Jag, this would be the one. The orange ones are really beautiful, and it seems like a truly well-thought out take on this classic.

I was going to move them here but the scans are really big. Hard to believe he never picked up a Jag until 2005!

Here's a nice little demo I found on my travels. Also, it appears that the first professional musician to not give a rat's ass about the signature is... Ed O'Brien of Radiohead!

And here's an interesting article I accidently found while looking for reviews, regarding Marr's (and Morrisey's) experience as 2nd generation Irish growing up in England. It seemed to not only help shape the sound of the Smiths, but pretty much their whole outlook on everything.

Ordered it in Metallic KO/Candy Apple Rust, expected to ship 3/28.
Just a note if you get one from Musician's Friend- the coupon code will not work if you order it online, but if you call, they will honor it. I had to buy mine with Paypal funds, but when I called and asked, they credited me the difference to my credit card on file. It's 12% right now ($1539.99), and it will most likely be 15% ($1487.49) soon if you're more patient than I am.

Awesome! I'm still hoping to scratch some $$$ together from somewhere and snag one too...
Of course we'll be needing a full report when it arrives!

Sure thing! I'll probably be such a proud papa, there will be photos that same day, followed by some proper sound samples through a tank... I'm pretty stoked!

Dammit..this thread helped convince me to get one too. Musician's Friend had a 'used' one(???) for $1100. I called and they didn't have any more info but speculated that it was probably dinged but that I could buy it and send it back if I didn't want it (just pay for shipping). So...I rolled the dice. It'll be a tense moment opening that case for the first time..! Keeping my fingers crossed for a ding on the back side...

I'm really looking forward to hearing actual first-hand experiences from new owners that purchased this bad boy with the intentions of using it primarily as a surf guitar. Like I said in the NAMM thread, from the limited time I had to spend with it, and even through the most miniscule digital practice amp, it was twangy as hell!

The wait's killin' me, projected to be shipped on 4/4. Well, all I can do is read about it! Here's another Marr interview about the guitar in the March edition of Guitar and Bass if anyone's interested:

Just came in yesterday afternoon; I've been too busy playing and fussing with it to post about until now.

It plays great- awesome neck, and the stay-trem works as advertised. This is now my favorite tremolo system. The only nitpick I have is that the bridge is rattling a bit, so I may have to do the lock tight thing. The bare knuckle pickups sound great once dialed in; they still sound very jaggy to my ears, where I have to roll down the master treble considerably to get a tone I'm more accustomed to. The finish is very color-shifting- it looks like copper in most lighting conditions, and shifts to orange in direct lighting, pretty kooky. All in all, very happy with it so far. While putting on some DR Pure Blues .011's, I threw on a mint pickguard- I'm on the fence about keeping it on:
