I'm BEYOND stoked at finally finding a copy of this...
Just listened to it. Very solid all the way through, "Secret Agent Man" excluded.
I'm on my third listen and this baby is sweet. It's hard to come up with a favorite song they're all damn good. "Supercar 2001" & "Primex" are great, but seriously they're all super fine. "Secret Agent Man" excluded.

This just arrived from Switzerland and I can't wait to listen to it. I love these mad Russians.

****I may love these mad Russians, but Messer Chups apparently doesn’t love me. I know that M. Chups likes to recycle the occasional song, but of the 17 songs on this CD it looks like 12 are from their last 3 albums with 9 of those 12 coming off their last cd “Bermuda 66”. From the sound of them they may have been remixed or possibly re-recorded, but they essentially sound the same as they do on the original albums. So if anyone wants to save themselves 25 bucks e-mail me and I’ll give you my phone number, you can call me and I’ll play you the 5 new songs over the phone. Damn and I was so looking forward to a whole new CD of Chups-ian madness.

Filled in a few holes in the Ventures vinyl collection:
And am looking forward to getting to know this:

I FINALLY was able to buy a copy of this - I've been looking for it for years, and it finally popped up on eBay. Listening to it now, sounds great!
Nice! That was the one of theirs that eluded me for the longest. I think it took almost a decade after getting the video game to finally find a copy of the soundtrack. (I think all three Runabout OST volumes can be boiled down to one great CD-R ... but that's a different matter.)

Very true, Warren. But it would be ONE HELL of a single CD-R!! Yeah, Super Runabout has too much Jeff-Beck/fusion-type stuff, and not a whole lot of surf, but it's nice to fill out my collection. Some of the CD is still great. I don't have the original Runabout III: NeoAge, but have a CD-R, so I hope I'll track that one down in due time, too. I seem to remember that one being the best of the three.
I recently received the Illuminators vinyl 12" EP (and CD-R included). They're a Swedish three-piece, and this is their debut release. It's really great! I think the best way to describe it is: powerful and evil! image
Nevsky Prospekt seems to exhibit a bit of the darker Space Cossacks influence, while Refined Illum-Nation sounds a lot like modern Dick Dale - but better! More interesting than almost all of his '90s stuff. They also do an excellent job with DD's arrangement of Hava Nagila, it sounds huge! Sunburst is a great trad surf song, beautiful and melodic. And I just love the truly awesome and deeply evil synth in the background of The Eye, sounds just perfect, and what an amazing song, very unsettling and original! All the instrument sounds are super-fat and big, with a lot of deep reverb, and the playing is very impressive throughout. I highly recommend this album! This is the band's website, and their album is for sale here.
It's so great to see younger surf bands like the Illuminators and Bang! Mustang! coming up in Europe, and sounding so good! Surf music just keeps on rolling, quite amazing, really!

Agreed ... definitely the most consistent of the three, even if there's no single song that hits the heights of "Escape From Alcatraz" or "Space Crickets," IMO.

What can I say? It's the Phantom Four. It's great! They've been playing some of these songs live for quite a while (Belly Dance #6, A Forest), so its good to have a studio version of them. I never tire of listening to Phantom Frank play the guitar.

Yeah ... first copy of it I've seen in a while. Sorry!
Anyone else who's looking, you can still get vinyl copies of Creature Feature, Soul Pilgrim and the s/t album (plus a few 7"s) directly from the band.

No need to apologize! I'm glad it went to someone who really really wanted it! I have it on CD (i have all their stuff on CD) but i've been expanding my vinyl collection. I'll have to get some stuff from their direct website too.

Dalibor Pavicic - Prezimiti u Riu #2
Single digital track from Amazon.
Sort of Dalibor Jazzmaster does jazz and does it very well.
Comes from a various Artists CD called "Dancing Bear Lounge" together with "Long Shadows" by the Strange (12" mix).
Prezimiti u Riu was originally a soundtrack to the movie "Winter in Rio" (2003) which contains two other variants of Prezimiti u Riu.

I'm not saying this is the greatest album, but it IS the latest one I have gotten. AND, it's not bad. I think Carl Wilson would have appreciated this music. It grows on ya, but it ain't Leika and the Cosmonauts.

The only two bands I recognize in that lineup are Christian ska bands...

Guess I should have mentioned ~ Paul Johnson appears on three tracks.
