Rattlesnake Ralph has advised me that THE OCTOMEN cannot perform at the SURF-ROCK SHINDIG on July 7th (Drummer double-booked the date...it happens, right?). Instead another band he is in with PAULIE TARANTINO (which I named The WrayCyclers -- Link Wray cover band) will take their place. So a new poster will be created soon. I have also locked down complete 4-band line-ups down for my AUGUST and SEPTEMBER SURF-ROCK SHINDIGs -- posters coming soon, too. (October is 1/2 booked as well!). I am so excited about all of these shows (plus my SURFIN' SAFARI in Asbury Park NJ on June 3rd) b/c I am going to feature many new instro surf bands!! Within the last month of so I have been approached by 4 NEW bands from New Jersey -- and until those moments, I had never heard of any of them! So it's awesome to see the surf music scene continues to grow out here!! UNSTEADY FREDDIE — |

That's great Freddie! We've had a few pop up here lately as well, so I share your enthusiasm. Man we'd love to perform up that way soon (The Meteor Men)? We talked about a gig @ Otto's recently and most of the band is down, we'd just have to do some schedule juggling (gigs, work, family) though. Our drummer is from Rockland, NY and still has family in around the city, so we'd be sure to bring a crowd with and he says we have a place to stay as well? Anyway, we hope to work that out one day. — |
