The Demo-CD will be available soon. The new album will be recorded in december with Boris aka Bisfer(Twang Marvels) and Patrick(Ex-Twang Marvels). It will be hard work but I think we will have a lot of fun! —http://www.reverbnation.com/bangmustang |

I've been listening to the five tracks on the ReverbNation page a LOT over the past few days - such great stuff! Journey to Calaforia is seriously one of the best surf tracks I've heard in many months! I love it! All the other ones are great, too, but that one really stands out for me. The whole band is hot! I hear more than a bit of influence by Los Twang! Marvels, in everything from the guitar playing style and sound, to the songwriting, to production (it sounds quite a bit to my ears like the LTM debut album, Guitars in Orbit). But this is a very good thing, I think, and the band shows more than enough promise to transcend those influences and become a unique and creative force in the world of surf music. I'm really impressed! Good luck with the full-length album, Sven, Boris, and co. - I'm really looking forward to it! —Ivan |

What can I say Ivan, I am spechless! Thank you so much for this very kind comment! Journey to Calaforia is a tribute to Calafuria where our first Surfer Joe Summer Festival took place. By the way the first time i met Ivan in person. So many good thoughts to this place. I think Lorenzo will disagree from the point of management... But we had such great time and I think the Songs refelcts it all. The production of the CD was really fun. For me it was also a really important moment and we got my and our first real CD release. Los Twang! Marvels always impressed me. If you have seen them live you can not describe it with words. Its magic! I got to know them in a point where my life was in a really bad period and listening to them gave me a lot of energy and inspiration back. In this time Alex was my big idol and he still is one of my idols. So Ivan is right about the influence of Twang Marvels and also two guys of LTM are with us know You can order the EP-CD directly from me. We don't have a shop yet. The full length CD will be recorded in may and released in june. Once again Ivan thank you so much for this! IvanP wrote: — http://www.reverbnation.com/bangmustang |

It's well-deserved! I've listened to Journey to Calaforia about 3-6 times a day every day for the past week! The other songs are great, too, don't get me wrong, but that one really speaks to me, it's got some kinda magic.
I kinda figured that. An excellent title, the song truly capturing that very special feeling that I personally felt that entire weekend - one of the greatest times I've had in recent memory.
Yeah, it wasn't the easiest weekend for Lorenzo, but I completely agree with you about the overall feeling there. An amazing weekend. I have also have very special memories of Livorno in general. These kinds of memories are quite common from one's childhood, but i think we have fewer and fewer of them as we get older... Another reason why it was such a special time.
Indeed an amazing milestone! And you've completely lived up to it! Congratulations!
Damn, ain't that the truth...
Sven, you do Alex very proud. Your playing is just phenomenal, and the small things where I hear Alex's influence are a wonderful and well-deserved tribute to him, certainly without being a copycat. (Do you play lead on all tracks, or do you switch off with the other guitarist?)
Oh, really? Besides Bisfer, who else? But yeah, that's pretty sweet! You really lucked out there!
Done.
Fanastic! Best of luck with both!
My pleasure, Sven. Really glad to see you releasing such cool music. I see big things ahead for you guys! —Ivan |

The other one who is with us is Patrick on the bass guitar. He has been playing with Twang! Marvels for a long time. He also went to a lot of tours with them incl. Mexico, Spain and Italy. IvanP wrote: — http://www.reverbnation.com/bangmustang |

Like it! I got the CD on Monday - sounds fantastic on my home stereo (rather than on my little laptop speakers listening on the ReverbNation page!). Really well done, Sven, greatly looking forward to the full-length! Good luck! —Ivan Last edited: Mar 07, 2012 14:06:26 |

I ordered Tribal Fires from Double Crown after finding out I was mandatoried at work Friday night(*my normal night off). I was planning to go to the show, as I have blood in Indy I can crash with. I was not a pleasant person to work with Friday night. |

Sven, at the risk of repeating myself, I really love your CD!! It's sooo good! I've listened to it twice through already just this morning. It really fills a void left by Los Twang! Marvels not having released a CD for the past four years - not to say you're just copying them, absolutely not! But the quality of the music and the musicianship, the depth of songwriting and the creativity in arrangements are all on par with them. I'm truly impressed! Keep up the great work!
What??!!! No such thing!!! If you can make the whole album as good as the EP, I think you will have a classic on your hands!
Directly through Double Crown - go here or through CD Baby - go here. kab69440 wrote:
Sorry to hear that! Hopefully you'll be able to catch us somewhere else this year, we'll be playing a lot and in many different places. And thanks for buying the CD! (BTW, it's probably best to leave any discussion of our album out of this thread - there are already a couple of threads about it - this one is the best one: http://surfguitar101.com/forums/topic/17593/ ) —Ivan Last edited: Mar 08, 2012 14:28:35 |
