Ha! I bought this LP for $1 at a flea mart. Cheesy cover, awesome album!

Science friction burns my fingers.

Madhur?

uh no,
Got it.

Though I do need to get Phantom Franks live cd
not sure if I would call it a Holy Grail or not.

I would think that the 45 of The Original Surfaris doing
Bombora and Surfari would be a Holy Grail for sure.

...the legendary Kathy Marshall disc... that's the real Holy Grail...

I bought that one six months or so ago thanks to a tip from Warren!

I can sympathize w/anyone who has "lost" stuff to 1) Disasters, 2) "Acts of God" & 3) Stupidity. My house was consumed & destroyed by fire in 2006. I lost 80% of everything I had. (Don't hate me)....but, in the 20% that survived blaze...All my guitars & 1 amp, plus "my surf music" collection...(mostly all originals). Other genres of music "melted" everywhere, it seems. After insurance co. re-built my home (& cleaned my surviving vinyl professionally), I have a LOT of surf music....(both popular & obscure on vinyl, CD's & cassettes). (What I thought was "the end" was & is actually "the beginning"). If anyone has any "wants", please shoot me a private message & maybe (or not) we can see if I have it, or, maybe where we can get it. Feel free. Hope this helps. It makes me know I "have an Angel" somewhere to have all the surf music & guitars survive that horrific night. oy Shock

"Evil a go go" cd by 50 foot combo
I have the cdr of the MP3s, but its just not the same.

For me there are two Holy Grails. The first is the Bambi Molesters "Dumb Loud...", but not the Deluxe, I love the Phil Dirt mix more. It has got more "soul".
And another release that I would search for if I hadn`t it yet is "Espionage Garage" from The Saboteurs. The Saboteurs were a Mark Brodie band and they released just this one CD and a 7". The "Espionage Garage" album has a "muddy" sound, that could be a nightmare for studio/recording hifi enthusiasts, but I love especially the sound and atmosphere on this album. Best surf/spy album imo.
I remember bigtikidude has got this album, too.

Twang cheers!

Ralph,

yes I do,
Wink

If you need a copy of that and the 45,
let me know. but I'm keeping the real one baby.

If I ever seen another one, I will buy it for you, for sure.

I'm still looking for the Jackie & the Cedrics TV Hop (Hillside Records) 45RPM.

Rev

I got this a while back. I'm not sure if Hillsdale repressed it or found a secret stash. Great Trashy vocal 45.

That's what I was thinking of. Got it confused with the Phantom 4.

Actually, the live CD is by the Phantom Four, not Phantom Frank, and it was - strangely enough - their debut release. It's a recording of their first ever show, which takes some big cajones to release as your first CD! It's quite good, and there are some great songs on it that didn't appear on their proper debut "Madhur". It's definitely worth picking up.

This was my Holy Grail for years until a few months ago when I got a mint copy on eBay. I still can't believe that! Such an amazing CD!

What's the difference between the Phantom Four and Thee Phantom 5ive (from Tennessee)? Well, I mean besides one Phantom, that is...

Ted James
Deep Eddy Records http://www.deepeddy.net
The Nematoads http://www.nematoads.com

different band members, and different country of location.

The Toads LP, talked about in this thread:

I knew Morpheus was a great song, but wow what a treasure that thing looks to be.

My one holy grail has to be "Head Shrinkin' Fun" on vinyl.

I was heartbroken when I lost it on ebay by only a few bucks.

If that Bomboras eBay loss was last year and it went for $18 or so, sorry 'bout that.

Up until last year my holy grail was all three different Jim Messina & The Jesters LPs (The Dragsters and the two different s/t ones). Trey, I'll keep an eye out for you for that Jesters LP.

Current holy grails: both Fender IV 45s. Satan's Pilgrims' At Home With LP and Terauchi Takeshi's Rashomon LP

(edit) Oh, and The Preps' "Moon Racers" 45, since I got ripped off on Gemm for it a year and a half ago. Argh

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

It was last year, but it wasn't that one.

Also forgot to mention I'd like to find A Haunting We Will a Go-Go and Heretic Channel on vinyl.
