Great! Ivan, does your right arm ever pump up after one of these?

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Noel, it hurts like hell! My right forearm is throbbing by the end of this song. Same with Everybody Up! by the Fender IV. But hey, you gotta suffer for your art! Wink

Thanks. I'm vindicated. My guitar teacher has been trying to stop me from doing it this way; the whole, just use your wrist, thing. But that takes all the power out of it; no attack at all. I'll just ignore him (on this point) from now on.

Noel, sometimes double-picking works better from the wrist, sometimes better from the elbow - ideally, you should be able to do both, that'd be my recommendation. The DD-type stuff definitely works better from the elbow, you get a lot more power, as you said. But more subtle or musical double-picking, mandolin-like stuff, works better from the wrist. So, practice both!

Thanks, morphball!

Here's one more from the same show that Tiki Tim just uploaded - The Madeira does the Surf Coasters: Intruder. See Patrick pull out all his best punk-rock moves, without any distractions by the annoying lead guitar player! Smile

Nice tone and great performance. Wish I could get that your tone... (and I refer to the tone which comes from your hands, not from your gear). Thanks for sharing. Smile

Patrick's awesome... it's hard not getting fired up with that song. You didn't sound too bad yourself! ;)
