It does, Pete. Thanks. Sounds great. Do you use it to try to get those spacey sounds in the demo?

Boston? Fukuoka? Kwajalein? You get around.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

HI Noel
I worked for a Defense contractor before in the Submarine Warfare
end of the industry...When the Berlin wall fell and the Navy decided
to cut back I switched over to the Broadcast industry...Got to ride
on U.S. Japanese and Candian P3 Orion Aircraft and some Sea Sprite
Helicopters..No jets or Aircraft carriers though...
I work for Comcast NBC Universal now...It was A change though.

Honestly with the Space echo It works great for Tape effects and
the built in reverb . Pushing the right pedal makes a UFO space ship
take off but where to you use it in a song...You can saturate the sounds
and get them to run over each other but in a real application where would you use it in a Instro surf Song too ?
I also have the Aqua Puss which is a great echo Pedal too I Have used
it with my Tank for a surf Sound and that too can go into some space sounds
horsing around with it.

I cant give a positive comment about the Reel Echo..Both pedals I had
The sound on sound died within months...There echo delay is to long
and is usless...The size and weight plus the layout is odd and the
slider pot in front gets everything stuck in it...

Hey just my opinion Noel...Its only based on owning 2 of them.

A while back ago, I bought the Boss rotary rt-20 pedal.
Kinda looks like the space echo, with 2 pedals.
Supposed to emulate a Leslie speaker.

I played with it a couple times & found it to be a tone sucker.
When on & the effects turned to 0, it still made a weird flanging effect.

The question I have is, is this pedal more like a fun
gadget to play around with, or is it really only useful
in a recording setting where there is time to
interactively play with it as the video shows, or is it
actually useful to perform instrumental/surf music
with?

It is useful in recording or playing live. I never need to change my settings while playing live. Only turn it on and off. I probably only use 5% of the pedal's functionality.

Dave .
Ive seen the boss RT20 at the guitar store but never used on...
I have the Danelectro Rocky Road which is a Rotary Emulator...
It has the direct opposite problem...It does not suck the tone it amplifies it...You really have to play with it to get it to calm down.
I really cant say it makes a Rotary speaker out of the amp but it
has an effect on it.
