VINTAGE LATE 1965 FENDER JAGUAR OCEAN TURQUOISE METALLIC Rarest of the Rare

The Fender Jaguar was first introduced in 1962. It was somewhat patterned after the Fender Jazzmaster, another Fender guitar first produced around the late 1950s.

Most vintage Jaguars you'll find out there are sunburst. Other custom colors are a lot more rare, like Ocean Turquoise, which is the color of the Fender Jag I'm selling here. Custom colors I've found tend to come with matching headstock, like this one. The dot inlays changed from clay to pearl in 65. The Original Jaguar was discontinued in 1975, until it's recent re-release. No guitar you will ever find, vintage or new, has the sound that this beauty does. We really should be selling this guitar for over $7500, but we want to establish good customer confidence with our new store, CMC Music City. That's why we are now offering 7-day returns on our items to make sure you feel confident in buying an actual, vintage guitar from our store. And that you suggest us and come back! Here's some other info to differentiate between the '65 and '66 Fender Jaguars...

Vintage 1965 Fender Jaguar guitar specifications:

Pearl fingerboard dots replace "clay" dots.
Plastic tortoise three layer pickguard replaces celluloid.

Vintage 1966 Fender Jaguar guitar specifications:

Binding added to sides of fingerboard by late 1965.
"F" style tuning gears replaces "Kluson-Deluxe" gears. Note the Jaguar was the first Fender guitar model to change to "F" style gears.

This leads me to believe that this model is almost completely late '65. The tuning gears are original Kluson's on this beauty. Yes, there are a few nicks and blemishes, but this Jag is ALL-ORIGINAL and has style that's been earned! For the TRUE artist/collector.

Features:

-RARE Ocean Turquoise Metallic Green color
-Original finish
-Solid body type construction
-Bolt-on Maple neck
-Pearl dot inlays
-Late '65 manufacture date

Any questions are welcome.

Music is what feelings sound like.

Is there a chance you could post some pics of this baby for historical purposes if you still have the pics??

I'm trying to see how Ocean Turquoise aged over the years...

Thanks!
Bruce

Crazy that my holy grail guitar is on sale just a couple hours from my house.

And at this price, for a vintage guitar, pics are an absolute necessity.

The auction ended a year ago. Tonewoods bumped this asking the seller, who has made one post, to post pictures. Something tells me we never see the seller again.

This is how ocean turquoise ages.

Thank you!!

I did find the guitar in question in another ad, here, with pics...

Interesting how OT ages, with "that" yellowish cast...

Thanks all....

Ahh... thanks, Jake. I totally didn't see the date on the original post. My bad!

And that 12-stringer looks fantastic!
