I'll take the Cramps' version of the Bird any day. Lux was just so awesome. As for the most annoying, for me (surprised it wasn't mentioned) - Last decade's definitor of crap, endlessly played everywhere, first abuser of auto-tune, makes you wanna kick someone's plastically altered face... Do Yo Beliiiiiiieve In The Power Of Love. edit: Just seen what Jake posted. I'm struck, dumbfounded. I feel stupider just from knowing this happened. Didn't know such things exist. Now I do, and there's no going back. Last edited: Dec 28, 2011 16:19:52 |

Sorry! That is rather par for the course of what the labels are producing these days. My favorite version of the Bird is the Satan's Pilgrims version on Spanish(or was it Mexican) television. Good stuff! |

Obeying the premise, If you can't say anything good about X, don't say anything at all, I will just note that Stairway to Heaven is a very nice song indeed which seems to enjoy a life span equal to that of spent nuclear fuel rods. |

I can't imagine any song knocking Captain and Tennille's Muskrat Love off my number one spot for worst song ever. https://www.facebook.com/index.php?lh=9353f9155b5ff32e14c998495fd00da4&#!/rich.derksen.7 |

What's wrong with Surfing Bird? It is a great hit. Weird scat singing rock n' roll, short, simple, dumb, easy to remember, straight, rhythmic, unic and hard to imitate with a minimum dignity (IMHO all cover attemps have failed with a loud crash - specially, The Ramones cover). —https://lospipelines.es/ |

What's wrong with Surfin' Bird? You answered your own question! I like the song, but I can clearly see why it is annoying. |

Surfin' Bird is a longtime favorite of mine. Since the 80's, I've used that song to break in every new audio component (amps, tape decks, speakers, car stereos, etc.) I've gotten my hands on. Back when I lived in Houston, I listened to KFMK, which was the oldies station at the time. One of the DJ's loved "Surfin' Bird" and every so often he would play it twice in a row! One Sunday morning, he played it and a listener called in to complain. She said she was having a nice breakfast with her family when that song came on and it made her feel sick. Naturally, the DJ had no choice but to play the song one more time. Perhaps this is what is unique about "Surfin' Bird". I agree it is an annoying song, but maybe it has an offensiveness about it that is pure genius. —If it ain't broke, fix it until it is. |

Devo is one of my favorite bands, but Whip It has to be one my least favorite songs of theirs. It's still Devo, though, and still cool because it is Devo. Matt "tha Kat" Lentz |

My annoyance with whip it is mostly because its one of those songs that starts playing in your mind sometimes and is impossible to shut off. |
