Listening to the album "You Brought Us Here" by Bethany
Curve. I've been in a big shoegaze mood lately, and
this album especially fits that mood.

This album is all guitar based, but run through so many
effects and layered so heavily (not to mention
completely drenched in reverb), that often it sounds
like keyboards. There is vocals, but those too are
drenched in reverb and effects and they become more
like an instrument than anything lyrical.

Perfect for rainy and/or depressing days Smile

got some links to look at or hear Josh?

Your tastes never cease to amaze me, Ryan. That album is an amazing document that when Western Swing was thought dead, it was actually reaching its most musically sophisticated pinnacle at the little 23 Culb in Brisbane CA. Thank goodness Vance captured some of it.

Thanks websurfer! Yeah, Jimmie Rivers was a very sophisticated player. He was pretty heavily influenced by jazz greats like Barney Kessel and Charlie Christian from what I've read. Some of the best western swing guitar ever recorded IMO.

The TakeOffs "Blue Avalanche", a "semi-final" mix of the Men of Mystery's CD of Shads covers and a compilation by The Agents that Ron Rhoades sent me. All outstanding stuff. After 2 days of clean, fun waves and gorgeous weather, I'm stoked and in aural paradise!

You're not drunk if you can put your socks on while standing.

"Dark Turn Of Mind", a great track off Gillian Welch's The Harrow & The Harvest album. I'm glad she finally released a new album this year.

RIP Sean Bonniwell. One of the most talented and creative songwriters to come out of the '60s, IMO.

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

Listened to these for a few weeks straight... See you again in about 11.5 months boys!

Now I'm listening to this on repeat... like I have been since '94.
