Permalink Re-Discovering THE LIVELY ONES

New Topic

I'd posted on YouTube what I'd considered a "mystery surf-frug instrumental".

It took an expert on Oldies music to tell me that this was "Soul Surfer" by
THE LIVELY ONES.

I know a lot about music, but that riff sounded like DICK DALE...and had me stumped for a while.

THE LIVELY ONES used to be played back in the day when Les Perry had a surf show on Los Angeles radio.

BTW....the version I found (broadcast in mono over Hawaii radio) has a faster tempo than the other version (available in stereo on Amazon.com for 99c).
