Permalink Weird popping/splashing sound coming from my tank...any ideas?

Hi all. I've got a Gomez G-spring and it is constantly making little popping/splashing/dripping sounds, irrespective of whether I'm playing. I can hear that the noise is coming from the springs - it's as though little charges are intermittently being sent through the springs causing little blips and pops, or vibrations are causing momentary jolts - but I don't know what could be causing that. It's also generally quite noisey/hummy too. I've tried different preamp valves, a different power valve and a different reverb pan but to no avail. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Mice?

Loose tubes will cause this problem, as will poor contact at the guitar or input jacks. I've seen this problem in a combo amp that had an arcing reverb driver transformer, but that should only happen in a vintage unit.

Leaky coupling caps will make this sound, however, new coupling caps don't leak. However, some companies like to use 'new-old stock' components because they are extra-vintagey, but those are at risk of leaking. I once pulled a leaky C-D cap from a Blues Land boutique amp and replaced it with an ordinary film cap. The amp's owner was much happier afterwards. I don't know if Mr. Gomez is using NOS caps but after my experience with the Blues Land, I haven't used anything them in anything that anyone has paid me for.

If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.

Clack pm sent. BJB - everything installed in the units are new sans the 12AT7WC and the 6K6GT.

Bad preamp tubes will do this. They cause a kind of "spitting" noise.

Could it be bad mains power? My amps make a lot of parasitic noise (hum + random popping) when I use them in my apartment because the electrical installation is a mess. They work fine in the rehearsal studio.

Old punks never die... They just become surf rockers.
