I don't think anyone would have had the chance yet, as they were just announced yesterday. Although, they ARE really cool looking, I'm interested to see how the bridge pickup sounds and I really wish they would have used the Jag/JM style vibrato. —The Phantomatics on Facebook Last edited: Oct 05, 2011 12:58:33 |

I REALLY dig this.. probably not for surf though. For rock/alternative/indie whatever - this would be a cool guitar. Wondering how that triple HB sounds and if it is splitable. |

Based on the 5 way switch I would assume it is in some fashion. No idea what though. I'll be very curious to see how they sound. |

I edited the first post to put the name of the guitar in the thread to help future searches. If it was a real Marauder, the pickups and trem bar would be underneath the pickguard! Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

Yeah, stupid choice to use that name by Fender. Regardless, I think this could be a neat guitar and capable of being a decent guitar to modify. I have to remind myself that I HATE strat style trems however. |

I bet it's just a 3 way switch disguised as a 5 way...oh and what narciso said |

It's part of the new Fender "Modern Player" series. Look at what they did to that poor Jaguar! (if you can still call it a Jaguar) I like the body shape of the new Marauder, but I don't like the concepts behind these new models. These must me the most un-Fenderish guitars & basses Fender ever produced. They kinda remind me of the Squier Jagmaster and the Blacktop Jag/Jazz. Why oh why didn't they reissue the Squier Super-Sonic instead? Old punks never die... They just become surf rockers. Last edited: Oct 06, 2011 06:00:22 |

Found it at a local dealer in germany. Quite cheap. 395,- EUR, which is ~500,- USD. I think Fender is concentrating on the younger audience and they tend to play Jaguars/Mustangs a lot (see the new age screamo/emo/etc). Last edited: Oct 06, 2011 06:27:02 |

Triple bucker can be split in a bunch of ways. It's kind of ugly but at least they are "trying" something new. haha |

If the second coil of a humbucker cancels out noise, does adding a third put it back? —RK |

Brian, there was a second version of the Marauder, back in '66, and this new one seems to be based on that one - at least the body shape. Ivan |

I just had to put up that original prototype picture because it was such a crazy idea. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

I don't know. I'd like to see more pickup switches on that second one. I'm not sure that seven is enough to dial in the right tone. —Reverb, man! |

i have a feeling the bridge pickup will mostly sound like garbage but im pretty curious about what one of those coils sounds like tapped, and if its a good playing guitar it might be a really nice moding platform —http://dinosaurghost.bandcamp.com/ |

At this price point, I'm surprised that it is being sold under the Fender logo rather than Squier. Personally, I've saving my "next guitar fund" for the new Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster that it supposed to be out later this month. —Sean |
