Wow, the Mill Valley Taters. I haven't thought about them for a long long time. I traded USK cassettes for their cassettes back around 1997. Definitely an interesting take on surf!!!! Thanks for playing that Clint. Rev —Canadian Surf |

Haven't had a chance to spin this episode yet, but geeked to also see The Goldentones! Their two full lengths (Atlantis & Atmosphere) were my first "Surf" CD's purchased in the early/mid 90's, 93-94'ish I think. I revisit both of those often and often wonder where those guys are now... —Fady El Mirage @ ReverbNation |

Thanks for all the nice comments! I try to play a good mix of the new material that I've gotten, then randomly pick from the library. That's why bands like The Mill Valley Taters, Goldentones, The Derangers and The Hill-Billy Soul Surfers, to name a few, show up on the playlist. It's fun to pull up these bands from 10 - 15 years ago and hear how the genre has changed over the years. CB |

Clint, thanks for playing the VC song "Taken by the Sea". It was a fun to listen to set of songs. Is it too late to get the CD you plugged at the end of the podcast? |

FYI.... Podcast #34 is a collection of very mellow, slow, pretty surf songs. Last edited: Sep 29, 2011 08:58:58 |
