Hi everyone- Just installed a Mastery Bridge on my new AVRI Jaguar. What a difference! No more buzzing, better action, improved sustain and still has that great Jag sound. I have one already on my Jazzmaster. These do make a world of difference. I ordered it last Thursday and it was delivered yesterday. Great customer service and a snap to install. Anyone considering this replacement bridge should take the plunge. It's worth it.

According to the Mastery Bridge Facebook page, they think they'll be back-ordered again by next week

Yeah, I saw that, I commented on there asking Woody if he'd still have some but he didn't respond.

I agree, I experienced exactly the same things as JohnnyA, I really like how my guitar just felt more playable after the bridge replacement. It was hard for me to shell out the cash right now, but I'm now glad I did. I'll have to save up for my Jag to get one too.

I decided to bite the bullet and buy it a couple days early.
I figure, what the hell, you only live once right?
Now I just have to hope it's here by our show next Friday.

Just out of curiosity, did any of you guys that have ordered a Mastery get a shipping confirmation?
Cause I ordered mine on Wednesday and haven't heard anything.
I know Woody had said they'd be out of them shortly, but I didn't think they'd sell out completely in two days.

From the Mastery Bridge Facebook page:
We are currently backordered 3-4 weeks. We're taking orders for the next batch which will be completed in mid October. All bridges are shipped in the order received. Thanks again folks!

Yeah, I saw that and commented on there, but I just got an email from Woody saying he shipped one out today.
I'm pretty excited to check it out.

Got the bridge yesterday, I played it for awhile but didn't get a chance to hear it until today at practice and it is awesome!
My Jazzmaster resonates more, it sounds more even and it definitely is louder unplugged, everything you've heard about these bridges is true, they're awesome.
If you can justify the price, do it, you won't be disappointed.

+1 on them shipping out fast. I ordered one Monday morning this week, and it came in Wednesday afternoon.
They've basically become a "must-have" for me. As a lefty, if I buy a Fender offset, it pretty much has to be Japanese. So when I find one with a good price, it's like "ok, sent the paypal payment for the guitar, now I've gotta go order some new pickups and a mastery bridge."
It's like when back in the day you switched from a dial-up modem to cable internet. Once you're used to it, there's no going back!
Well, that might be putting it a bit severely, but they're definitely worth the money. I have not had any intonation issues with a wound g, and even if there were, as long as they weren't significant, I would consider it worth the trade off with the mechanical and sonic enhancement to playing that the Mastery Bridge provides.

This thread inspired me to get one too. I ordered last sun and got it on thurs.
I hate to say but I don't like it. It seems to take some of the Jazzmaster away and replace it with strat to my ears. Also feels like strings have more tension.
I had it on for 30 min, def improved sustain, but i plugged in and played just didn't feel right, decided to put the old one back on and there it was. Ill try it one more time to decide for sure but right now im a no go.
Its a very well made product but sounds like a strat to me. PS I don't like strats if you didn't know that about me. Or maybe the clunky buzzy bridge is just what im used to.
Ill post the final result when I have it.

Give it more than 30 minutes. I couldn't agree less with your conclusions, I don't see how it would be possible for it to make a Jazzmaster sound more Strat-like and I've heard plenty of Jaguars and Jazzmasters with them and they always sound like Jags/JMs. It certainly didn't have that affect on my Jaguar. The feel is a little different, but I wouldn't say one is right over the other, overall the Mastery feels more solid and resonant to me, bringing out the Jaguar tones.

I was saving for a Mastery bridge for my Jag when I cheaped out and bought these instead -
GRAPH TECH STRING SAVER SADDLES
I've been very pleased with the results. Whether the Mastery would make for an even greater improvement I don't know, but I'm happy.

Now those Graph Tech saddles I left on for 30 minutes before removing them. They jumped around too much for me. I had to put pieces of rubberband in between each saddle. I still have them if anyone wants to try them you'll be welcome to them.

Interesting - I personally haven't experienced any movement. In fact I noticed I lost the intonation screw on the A string a couple weeks ago and I'm still playing it although I haven't got a replacement yet. I'm not the greatest player so you may be right.

I've had a Mastery bridge on my Thin Skin Jazzmaster for a couple years now.
When I first installed it I immmediately noticed better string to body transfer which gave me better sustain and increased clarity and note definition.
To my ears, this wasn't less Jazzmaster, in fact, I think it was MORE!
Plus, the trem movement is silky smooth (it was fine with the stock bridge, but it's even better now).
Overall, I could not be happier with the change.
I've been considering a home-built Jazzmaster project and if I do, another Mastery will included.

The Graph Tech saddles stink and I told them so. First they aren't wide enough and they do jump around. Secondly they create way more sustain (and I do like some sustain) but my guitars no longer sounded like........well, my guitars. They were so slippery that the bridge itself moved all over the place and I would chase the tuning continuously.
Chucked them and machined my own out of free machining brass rod stock.

I truly love the Mastery Bridge on my CIJ Jazzmaster...it truly makes the JM/Jag bridge a "non-issue"... absolutely functional piece of guitar engineering...
