Permalink unidentified fender magazine in uk

New Topic

While browsing WH-Smiths i was attracted to a magazine bearing the words Fender & Bible. I didn't bother to try to remember anything else because i thought i could find it on-line with those keywords. Wrong! All i could find was a 2007 publication called the Interactive Fender Bible Book & DVD. I'm pretty sure this is not the same thing - No DVD and a bar-code price of £7.99 British Pounds Only. Very nice article about David Gilmour's 001 Stratocaster with many close-up photographs and fender geek info, Plus! the next article i saw: "Surfing with the Jazzmaster & Jaguar". I'll check it out again next time i'm in town.

Damnit, i wish i hadn't bothered with this now! I now have the Magazine. It's called "Fender Electric Guitar Bible" by Guitar Classics (Guitar & Bass) (Guitar magazine) Anthem Publishing. It wasn't David Gilmore's 001 Stratocaster after all ...just a 1955. And the article that made me think Wow! another piece about surf guitars!! wow! this is too good to be true, well it really was too good to be true.. almost insulting. Otherwise it's a mighty mag for Fender disciples. Recommend? nah.

hey, Dinko bought it on airport. I guess any surfguitar 101 member can write better articles

Hi Dalibor!! I hear your uk visit was enjoyable. That's good news.

Thanks for chiming in.

Yes this line: "Carl Wilson of the Beachboys played one, influencing lesser surf outfits to pick up the Jag such as the Trashmen"..

I have just about zero interest in the Beachboys (i didn't get into them as a teenager) so this comment might be correct for all i know. It just seems a little insulting. Little else is about surf music in the whole article.
