Permalink Anyone own a Fender Blues Deluxe?

I have a chance to get one of these in new condition for $200, but I've never spent much time with one. Does anyone here own one?

If it's one from the nineties in tweed, Id jump all over it for that kind of money. and a little more too. beautiful warm clean sound.

not really suitable for surf though, not enough punch/ too warm, 'woolly' sounding. Maybe speaker change will cure it. dosesn't Ivan have one of these too, with a Weber Cali?

some downsides are it needs tubes that can handle some power, and the (PCB mounted) inputs will crap out on you eventually and will have to replaced by chasis mounting inputs, but really, minor issues, and for $200 the sound makes up for it, imo.

I've played through a few, and I would say about the same as WR. I think they capture Fender tube tone, and sound really good at low volumes, but it's not "club loud". A speaker change would help, but for $200, that's a pretty sweet deal. If nothing else, for that kinda coin, it would make for a great bedroom amp.
