This is such a great album! It doesn't seem like the Mosquitos get the love and appreciation that they should for this CD. Maybe it got lost in the shuffle a bit of all the great '08 releases - if so, let me HIGHLY recommend to all SG101-ers to pick this one up. Great musicianship, FANTASTIC songs, an excellent vibe throughout - and lots of theremin (courtesy of the multi-talented monster-artist Stephen Blickenstaff!). This is modern surf of highest caliber, energetic, exciting and adventurous, yet steeped in tradition, full of excellent guitar tones courtesy of the dueling lead guitars of Paul Carson and Joe Marencic. I also think it was a signficant step forward from their first two CDs. My favorite tracks on this CD are: Mosquito Royale, Dusty Dusty Dusty Nugget Nugget Nugget, Ahhh, the Atmosphere, Hank Scorpio, The Liquidators, and Meltdown. Do yourselves a favor and check this one out if you haven't yet!!!!

Yes! I'm a huge fan of this CD and was thrilled to see the Mosquitos at last years convention.

Big Thanks to Jeff for turning me onto these guys @ his BBQ during the convention weekend. I'd never heard of them before. Instantly mesmerized fo'sho! Guess you'd call it TikiHawaiianExotica with a splash of Latin vibe and a nod to Surf & Summer with tracks like "Missorlou" and The Endless Summer. Every time I listen to this, I think about Jeff's 'Q and all the great things about that weekend.
This entire album is fantastic. Really choice stuff. 'Tis only Friday morning and it feels like happy hour in my office (well, minus the cocktails or chili willies… straight up coffee will have to do for now.)

I believe they were members of the Sir Finks in a previous band.

Very cool that you picked that up Fady,
I like to say its the perfect mixo of Exotica, Hawaiian, Surf and a splash of Calypso.
of all of the Tiki Music out there.
I think that the Surf Music people would like APE and Tikiyaki the most, and then the Vanduras a close 3rd.
cheers, and thanks again for that Aqualads cd.

Surf Beat '80 then Fathomless?
What're you, in my living room?!
What an incredible back to back!
Another two that have been in constant rotation the past few days are The Penetrators' Locked & Loaded and both Bradipos IV albums, Instro-Mania!! and Surf Session.

This morning I listened to George Shearing "The early years". Nice old Jazz LP!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxmIvXm6uIU
And later Squirrel Bait "skag heaven". Very melodic and powerful old punkrock / HC from the mid 80`s. Love this album! Great melodies!
