Local surf band that does both traditional instro's and
vocals. Picked up the CD at their show last week.

Didn't know they had non-digital copies of their stuff. Bought their first EP on cdbaby, love it

Storm Surge of Reverb: Surf & Instro Radio

Oh boy! In order purchased:

The TomorrowMen, "It's About Time"
Meshugga Beach Party, "Hot Rod Hanukka"
Daikaiju, "Daikaiju" and "Phase 2"
The Razorblades, "Gimme Some Noise"

I wish I could have bought more. Lots of great suff to chose from this weekend.

Gotta agree with Klas - unless you ask permission from the labels or the artists, it's not cool to freely share music. Just because other websites have the albums up for free download doesn't make it okay. And although you say the website is "non-profit", I'm sure you get some sort of payment each time someone downloads an album, or signs up and pays to be a member of the download services you are using. I'd appreciate it if you would remove any Double Crown release you have on your website.

A better approach would be to ask labels or bands for songs (or albums) that ARE okay to post for free download. I know if you approached us, we'd offer one or two songs from each album we've release for free download through your website.

Hate to sound like a douchebag about this issue, but as we move from CD's and LP's to digital music, if labels and bands don't make anything from the downloads, there will no longer be as much quality music produced.

You can check 'em out on my blog

Many of this albums are avalable on other blogs too or can be downloaded on soulseek or anywhere else.

So? How does that justify adding to the problem?

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

Sean, Doing the right thing does not make you sound like a douchebag. The only ones who would call you that are those ripping off artists & labels, trying to justify it as exposure. I agree with you & Klas 100%.

Now to get back on track, I got the new Tomorrow Men release, and am loving it. Suffice to say it is a must have release!

Hey, I don't want to be some kind of outlaw here, even if it's cool to be like Peter Fonda in "Wild Angels" on my avatar.
Again, my blog is just for fun, love of music & cool times & it's FREE!. I'll be glad if somebody tell me how to make money of this. I just don't want to be misunderstood or misjudged.
Nobody want's to be ripped off, so I understand your complains. I will remove anything that offends your property. I don't think I have something from Double-Crown [I had in plan to put The Ok Kings - It's Ok], but if you find anything just tell me and I'll remove it.
No hard feelings Cheers

To me it's very simple. The more illegal free downloads of in print albums, the less future physical releases of the music we like.

I like physical anyways Thumbs Up

While I agree with you for the rest, I don't know what makes you so sure about this. Mediafire is entirely free and as far as I know doesn't give any kickbacks to people using it. I've been accused of the same thing for my blog and I've never seen a cent from it, I just like the idea of letting rare music be listenable, gathering information on it, and not making others go through the money and effort I do just to hear the stuff I put up. (and for the record, NONE of it is in print unless it was recently reissued. It's gone stagnant while I try to find something, anything that somebody else hasn't ripped yet)

Start a label and reissue out-of-print albums. Do it legit, like Sundazed.

I like to think that the reverb Gods were looking down
upon me yesterday, buzzing with anticipation for the
convention, but in an insane instance of good fortune,
I hit a mother lode of incredible album scores!!!
It was like Christmas came early!!!!
In one visit, I managed to pick up the following:

Wow, wow, wow!!! Absolutely incredible stuff!!!

Congrats Bruddah,
JP called me and was asking me about all of these titles,
and then he says they are between 1.99 and 5.99.
I yell, get it all silly.
he still left some behind.
Shock Whatever

Congrats, JonPaul! Fathomless is an incredible CD for
sure, one of the best ever!

Just today I received my own holy grail CD - one I'd
NEVER seen for sale anywhere, nor had ever even seen in
person - I honestly started thinking it's the Yeti of
Surf - just a myth, a legend! But thanks to eBay, I
managed to score it last week (though it wasn't cheap).

LOVE this CD!!

you Lucky Bastard!!
just kidding.

I have the download too,
but I don't listen to it often enough,
and I really wish I had the artwork.

cool find!!

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Sorry, Jeffe, but there's just some things I cannot justify spending any money on, whether $1.99 or not...
They say don't judge a book (or album) by its cover, but, man oh man, does this make it difficult...

Insect Surfers
The Tikiyaki Orchestra

Fiberglass Jungle - Surf Radio

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Snagged or was given these at the convention:

Deadbeats - Day of the Deadbeats EP
Tomorrowmen - It's About Time
Meshuggah Beach Party - Hot Rod Hanukkah
Mystery Men - the EP they were selling
Terauchi Takeshi & Nokie Edwards - that one live CD
Mike Barbwire - Camel Rock 7"
Avengers VI - Real Cool Hits LP
Treblemakers - Vs. The Doomsday Device LP
Bomboras - Savage Island LP

(Too lazy and medicated to hunt for pics and/pr titles)

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

Speaking of BOMBORAS...

I wouldn't suppose somebody grabbed an extra Camel Rock at the convention?

Sorry Hunter, didn't think to - check with Abe from the Deadbeats, he might still have the leftovers.

Got this in the mail today after waiting for the vinyl version to appear. I loved the last one and this is just a tiny bit less tough, but still very solid and with some great new high-energy songs. B-Core also includes an MP3 download link with the LP too, I love it when they do that
