Thanks Jamie. Be sure to say hello and introduce yourself. We can no longer wait. Saturday isn't getting here quick enough...

This is a must have CD for surf music fans. It has all
the energy you'd want, but channeled, not just
intensity for it's own sake. There's great melodies and
interesting arrangements, and a tidal wave of reverb! I
couldn't believe my ears when I was listening to it the
first time today, it's soooooo good! I only wish this
was a glorious start to an historic musical career
instead of a swan song
I predict people will be listening to these songs
reverently, and longing for more, in 30 or 40 years -
much like we do now for the Fender IV. And the
approach, at once primal and dense and inventive, just
like the Fender IV. It's a testament to the power of
the best surf music.
BUY IT!!!
Thanks a lot Danny! That last statement alone is sufficient enough to quit right now! Ya gotta die young, haha j/k. But seriously thanks. It means a lot coming from you.

After being pummelled by this incredible CD, the performances this weekend, and finally scraping myself-off the floor, I've gotta urge the Deadbeats not to call-it-a-day. You guys are seriously awesome!

Been listening to the EP since I got it on Saturday. Wow man. Wow.
I really really dig the whole EP, but after seeing it live a couple times and listening to it on repeat for a while, I've gotta say that Obey is seriously one of my new favorite surf songs EVER. That song is killer!
Obey!

This album is the BOMB! (Am I allowed to say that?) I only wish there were more songs! If you like hard, fast, dark surf music this one is for you! And, as a bonus, the songs and songwriting are top notch.
I'm so grateful I got to see 2 shows this weekend and meet the guys! Good luck to Ben who is driving from CA to NY to start grad school!

Awesome! Thanks! All we Deadbeats wanted was to bring the pain. I'm glad people can feel it.

Ben brought the pain to Matt's showman on Sun. at the HB pier,
I seriously thought he had blown the speaker.
But he was just diggin in real hard.
will have to get a prognosis from Matt Q after he gets back from vacation.
Hopefully its all ok.
Haven't had a chance to listen to the cd yet.
But I was really impressed with the Deadbeats live performance.
I knew they were good from youtube videos, and recommendations.
But its just not the same, till you see a band live in front of you.
I am so glad that they were able to make it down for the SG101 weekend.
I hope you guys had a great time.
Please don't break up.
I'd like to see you guys come down again,
and do some other shows maybe SD with Secret Samurai,
and the wished for(at least by me) back to back show with the
Tequila Worms.
thanks again

This past weekend I was generously given one CD and then bought three more for my bandmates - and then forgot ALL FOUR in the glove compartment of the rental car!!! Aaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Currently trying to retrieve the CDs from Hertz, with Brian's help. So frustrating..... The wait goes on.....
The DeadBeats blew my mind. They were simply astounding at Convention show, THEE breakout hit of the day for me. In fact, among a sea of amazing acts, almost every one of which I enjoyed greatly, the two that stood out a bit taller for me were the DeadBeats and Satan's Pilgrims. Both moved me to tears of joy at some points of their show, the DeadBeats cause they were so devastatingly good, even overwhelmingly incredible, and the Pilgrims cause it was SOOOOO good to hear again that huge sound and those phenomenal songs that I love so much.
The DeadBeats forever!!!!

Thanks, Jeff. I'm still holding out hope, but even if it doesn't happen, well, I'm sure the DeadBeats will appreciate selling another four CDs.

Jeff, I think I noticed that same speaker cabinet seemed flubby on Saturday too. Correct me if I'm wrong but on Saturday it was on the left side of the stage from the audience point of view? Anyone else notice a big difference between the two Showmans on Saturday?

Danny,
I noticed that the 2 fans with all of the cords and electrical cables were for blowing on the tubes, not on the musicians.
So after you guys played I did that, and I think that helped with the
flubby sound. I didn't notice anywhere as bad with you as Ben.
but sorry for not realizing that earlier.

as far as I know,
but Matt is on a camping Vacation like you were, except for a whole week.
So I won't know 100% until he comes back.
but fear not, he's talked about that flubby sound before when hot.
Sorry for the thread derail guys,
back to Deadbeats talk now.

Day of the Deadbeats is everything that's been said, and deserves all the fuss. Inventive. Intense. Precise. Should be played very loud. More please!

I first met young Ben Johnson AKA Wooza almost exactly three years ago, I think before he even joined the Deadbeats (maybe?). Chalk this up under "that Ivan sure is an amazing judge of young talent" - check out the beginning of this video: The Madeira: Tangaroa We had just finished playing "The Saracen", and I did a post-song dedication to Ben. Listen to what I say there. Damn, did I nail it or what??? Sometimes I scare myself...
