Congrats, JonPaul! Fathomless is an incredible CD for sure, one of the best ever!
Just today I received my own holy grail CD - one I'd NEVER seen for sale anywhere, nor had ever even seen in person - I honestly started thinking it's the Yeti of Surf - just a myth, a legend! But thanks to eBay, I managed to score it last week (though it wasn't cheap).
LOVE this CD!!

Congrats, Ivan!
That couldn't have been cheap ...
— That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

Oh wow, talk about rare CDs!!!
I grabbed a digital copy when that band-sanctioned download appeared, and I never thought I would even see a physical copy of it. What a great album, I could listen to that every week. Congrats Ivan!

Warren, it was just under $50, including shipping from the UK. Probably the most I've ever paid for a CD! Will not be making a habit of this, that's for sure.
The nice thing is that the CD (including the artwork) is like new. Amazing.

Totally agreed with all the above, Brian. I've also had the pirate download version for years, which is why i knew i couldn't let this CD get away. It's simply incredible.
thanks, guys! Definitely a big score!

Congrats Ivan! I have some rare surf in my collection, and I have all of the Fifty Foot Combo CD's EXCEPT that one. I downloaded like the rest of you back when the band made it available for free. If anyone still needs the download, I believe the link on our blog still works:

I assume you already have the 1963 Hal Blaine and the
Young Cougars album which is loaded with early fuzz
sounds and would be my #1 recommendation.
For anyone not familiar with the album, check this out:

I just get this a few days ago. It's a Canadian issue and it's Great!!!
Feature some pre Davie Allan fuzztone guitar sound. Maybe one of the best hot rod lp's from 60's

Hey I just picked up that Ventures Surfing album at a antique shop off of I 75 in Ohio while traveling. Want to frame it next to my Bo Diddley surf album and the Astronauts. 5 dollars.

Great! I think that it's their best along with "In Space" & "Batman Theme"
Almost forgot to mention this jewels I find not so long ago.
Both featured Davie Allan & Mike Curb.

Very nice scores there - I've never seen or heard of these two LP's. How are they?

Both lp's are really great & must have for fans of Davie Allan & the Arrows or The Hondells.
The Buddies is like The Hondells a studio project in simmilar style, with participation of Davie Allan, Mike Curb & other top L.A. musicians. All vocal trax and instros are written by Allan/Curb. Great ride from start to finish.
Golden Breed features Davie Allan on two trax "High Rise" & "Surfer Paridise" [also on Sundazed "Cycle Breed" comp. in slightly diff. versions]. Other stuff on lp are cool too, from exotica to lounge & surf style instros & couple of vocal trax, produced/arranged/written by Harley Hatcher, Mike Curb & Jerry Styner.
You can check 'em out on my blog SURFADELIC

Yeah, that Buddies album is great. I can also recommend The Buddies & The Compacts LP which has a similar mix of vocals and instros including a great vocal version of "Rebel Without A Cause".
I checked out your blog and noticed that you're offering some full album downloads of stuff that is still in print and readily available to purchase. Not cool at all.

Look, my blog is non profit and all is about promotion of good music & stuff I like. Many of this albums are avalable on other blogs too or can be downloaded on soulseek or anywhere else.
So if anyone like anything there, will by original vinyl or cds as I do.
All I want is to celebrate cult of great surf & garage rock music & subculture.

Los Venturas - Kaleydoskop
From Belgium. Produced by Pete Curry. A little surf, a little psych, a little ska, a little island, a little Euro, a little everything rolled into one cohesive instrumental package.
Available in LP and download here: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/losventuras And no, I'm not getting any kickbacks. Just a fan wanting to spread the word. Sample the tracks on CDBaby. Really cool stuff! It's the best instrumental release I've heard all year.

Local surf band that does both traditional instro's and vocals. Picked up the CD at their show last week.
