Cool. I'll have to check that out. You would think that Guitar Mags like these would feature more Surf music articles and such. After all it is guitar based music.

The Deadbeats

i urge all sg101' ers to write in ( as i did)and congratulate said publication for featuring surf music articles.....!

Thanks for posting that, Brian! Now if I could actually get my hands on a copy...

No I didn't know about either - off to the shops tomorrow, hopefully at least one of these will be in my local!

In the US, these UK guitar and music magazines can usually be found at Borders or Barnes & Noble bookstores. Trouble is, they have almost all shut down.

It's also available on the iPad for $4.99, thanks for the heads-up on this issue.

Borders closed down big time earlier this year in Australia,It was quite dirty as they would not honour gift vouchers unless you purchased other items equal to the value of the gift voucher, also sales staff were done over losing leave entitlements and other benefits. It was like the company said **** you Australia and upped stumps.

This is a great mag. I used to get it in the late nineties early two thousands. Top notch production.

"Guitarist" or "Guitar & Bass Magazine"?:)

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

I was referring to Guitarist. It packs a lot into 1 issue and comes with a CD that has videos as well as backing tracks.

Picked up a copy earlier this week from WH Smiths. As with most Future Publishing Magazines it's a quality read. The surf article is nicely written, fairly accurate account of the 1960s surf boom. PJ and Dick Dale's comments are sparse and i doubt the average SG101'er would learn very much but i'm as pleased as anyone to see the front cover in local shops around the uk. It would have been nice to have given a few current bands a mention but oh well, nothings perfect. I'd say to overseas buyers, so long as you're not paying over the odds, you'll enjoy this edition. The Eventide Space Reverb pedal review is worth a large eyeballing! Oh, the free cd crashed my perfectly healthy win7 PC three times.....
