This may be a slightly late announcement for some, but... Behold!

The first and only official recording by the Deadbeats: our very own EP "Day of the Deadbeats" is finished and pressed and available for purchase! Six original songs and one original arrangement performed by the SF Bay Area's resident surf delinquents, recorded and produced by none other than Ferenc Dobronyi. Buy it, and grow a little more hair on the chest your surf collection.
It's been a long time coming, and unfortunately there are only two chances left to buy this disc in person: We'll be playing at this year's SG101 convention, Sat Aug 13 and the following day at the Huntington Beach pier... then we BREAK UP and DIE! Come see us, dance around, mosh a bit, say hello, and buy a cd. Or if you can't make it out, email us at deadbeats63@yahoo.com to request a copy, but know that you'll have missed out on the party.

This is a must have CD for surf music fans. It has all the energy you'd want, but channeled, not just intensity for it's own sake. There's great melodies and interesting arrangements, and a tidal wave of reverb! I couldn't believe my ears when I was listening to it the first time today, it's soooooo good! I only wish this was a glorious start to an historic musical career instead of a swan song
I predict people will be listening to these songs reverently, and longing for more, in 30 or 40 years - much like we do now for the Fender IV. And the approach, at once primal and dense and inventive, just like the Fender IV. It's a testament to the power of the best surf music.
BUY IT!!!

That is incredibly good news!!!
then we BREAK UP and DIE!
WHAT????????? That is INCREDIBLY BAD NEWS!!
I'm very sorry to hear that, but it makes me even happier that I'll be there this weekend to see your last two shows - and try like hell to talk you out of this crazy decision!
Can't wait to hear the CD, can't wait to hear you Saturday!

Brian, Shawn Dickinson did the artwork for this. He's the same guy that did that Ghastly Ones comic book. Thanks for the interest folks and we hope to see and meet some of you at the COnvention this coming Sabado.

That design would be really sick for a T-Shirt. I can imagine it will be REALLY expensive though, haha!

I've had the pleasure of knowing these guys and seeing several of their shows, I'm really bummed because they're one of the best young bands around and I'll miss them! In any case I'm sure they'll all go on to make whatever band they end up in that much better. Hasta mañana amigos!

Isn't this talk of the band being over premature? Sure Ben is leaving, and not to downplay his significant talent, but, The Deadbeats were a trio before he arrived and they can carry on after he's gone. They played a fantastic set last Saturday as a trio, including most of the originals from the CD, and I'm sure they can carry on that way, or find another guitar player. Besides, Ben has to come home for holidays now and then, right? Reunion shows! These guys are all young, talented and have a great future ahead of them. I wish them well, and look forward to seeing them play together. ¡Viva Los Deadbeats!

Im sure that some of you are probably thinking, "why would I wanna buy this EP? I haven't even heard a single song from it". Well I just uploaded 2 tracks, Gooch in Space & Karabasan, from Day of the Deadbeats onto the Facebook BandPage. Check it out yo! The Deadbeats
