Shock
Definitely refin over burst. Gotta say that neck stamp looks way too pristine for the the date (heck, current runs aren't that clean!) ...and the excessive fret ware "due to flat wounds"... huh? Fishy. Besides, for $29,999 that Fiesta Red had better be hand delivered to my doorstep by Mr. Marvin himself from his personal collection.

I know the neck is ridiculous. It makes me wonder though what the most a strat ever went for?

The original "Blackie" sold at Christie's in 2004 for $959,500. Probably a good chance that'd be the most expensive one...

Anybody thinking this guitar looks more vintage?

Some guitars are just put away and other are touched up, refurbished or restored.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Apparently you are correct but now it's apparently de-throned.

Sheesh! More dollars than sense.

I love the look of a Sea Foam Green Stratocaster...Love it...

Fender Twin Reverb-Amp ('65 reissue)
2003 MIM Stratocaster/1998 Ibanez RG7620

Or a Daphne Blue Mustang...does that count???

Dont remember if I posted on this thread..... anyway,

I've got Strats and love 'em, had a nice Jag and sold it to a fellow SG101'er, my son has a Jazzmaster....

But, my goto girl is my Ibanez Jet King 4. I swapped out the buckers with Armstrong P-90's. This axe surfs like crazy. Awesome playability and tone.

Lately, my Gretsch 5124 (with D'Armond 2000s).

Those wonderful single coils work with the hollowbody and give a great sound that can go from jangly surf into twangy, beefy duane eddy.
Hard to describe; rather than the mellow buttery sound of a Jazzmaster, it has a woody, steely edge to it. More raw. Different. Think of the way the Venture's cover of Ghost Riders sounds (the one with the screaming and the cows), but more so.
Since tweaking it and putting in a different spring, I love the bigsby, too.

But...where's the tremolo bar?

I play a Strat and have just scored a gorgeous Jazzmaster.....so SWEET!

I've never heard one. Does it sound like other Hallmarks or does it have its own tone?

Wow! For aminute I thought I was looking at my new Custom. Gold hardware was my clue that I wasn't. Nice Axe! Love mine.

It's a lot like the 60 Custom, but with an even more full tone. It's slightly heavier, too, but it's solid as a rock.

I love the look of the Jag and Jazz, and I grew up thinking the Mosrite design was the coolest thing ever but I'm a strat guy at heart and would say it's my favorite surf guitar.
