I know the neck is ridiculous. It makes me wonder though what the most a strat ever went for? —Jeremy |

The original "Blackie" sold at Christie's in 2004 for $959,500. Probably a good chance that'd be the most expensive one... —Fady El Mirage @ ReverbNation |

Anybody thinking this guitar looks more vintage? http://store.guitar-villa.com/p-17124-1961-stratocaster-blond-rosewood-board.aspx Some guitars are just put away and other are touched up, refurbished or restored. —This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got. |

Dont remember if I posted on this thread..... anyway, I've got Strats and love 'em, had a nice Jag and sold it to a fellow SG101'er, my son has a Jazzmaster.... But, my goto girl is my Ibanez Jet King 4. I swapped out the buckers with Armstrong P-90's. This axe surfs like crazy. Awesome playability and tone. |

Lately, my Gretsch 5124 (with D'Armond 2000s). Those wonderful single coils work with the hollowbody and give a great sound that can go from jangly surf into twangy, beefy duane eddy. Last edited: Jul 21, 2011 01:19:12 |

I've never heard one. Does it sound like other Hallmarks or does it have its own tone? FooserTom wrote: — This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got. |

I love the look of the Jag and Jazz, and I grew up thinking the Mosrite design was the coolest thing ever but I'm a strat guy at heart and would say it's my favorite surf guitar. Last edited: Aug 14, 2011 07:31:24 |
