Thanks for the kind words, Freddie. As you know, we (and particulalrly I) weren't really very happy with our performance and I want you and everyone else to know that your supportive and reassuring words to me as we came off stage were hugely appreciated. I won't forget that. Consider yourself duly invited to my 50th birthday party in Brighton on September 17th; we have some rather special guests who you might care to see, if you can make it!

I'm not creating a separate thread for the videos from SURFER JOE. I've come back from Italy from a very serious health condition that has left me very weak, so internet use must be minimal. So I had to make that choice. ALL OF MY SURFER JOE 2011 VIDEOS WILL ONLY BE POSTED HERE. SORRY.
here is a series of my first 3 videos f/SURFER JOE 2011. These were shot at 'Mercatino Americano' on Thursday June 16th 2011. First there was a SURF JAM (no videos), followed by a wonderful performance of THE KILAUEAS. For that night, the KILAUEAS were: Ralf Kilauea (guitar), Alex Faida (guitar; he's from the band LOS TWANG MARVELS), Lorenzo Valdambrini (drums; he's from the band SURFER & HIS BOSS COMBO), Jaque Kilauea (bass).

I noticed in Tom's Bambis video that Freddie was looking unwell. What a trooper, get well soon mate! Really appreciate these videos. The Man from ENIGMA was great.. love that tune.

Freddie, I hope you're getting better and that it's nothing serious - hang in there!
Great videos! Really nice to see the Kilaueas again, even if they were in the 'quasi-Kilaueas' lineup. I must say it's funny to see Alex play bass and Tom play guitar - Alex very much looks like a guitar player playing bass, and Tom very much looks like a bass player playing guitar! Just the way they hold their instruments, and how they pick, etc. But hey, it sounds great, so who cares about how it looks!
Thanks, Freddie! Take care of yourself and get well soon!

Probably just the way Alex plays the bass you can tell he's not a bass player. As for the other gentlemen, I wouldn't even have known he was a bass player if you hadn't mentioned it. But then again maybe that just their posture.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts about my health. I'm yankin' out as much spirituality as I can to combat this. But trembling from fear nonetheless.
I just checked my YouTube page. One Sunny Boys video and 3 by the Krontjong Devils failed to load in. No idea why. Will check tonight.
And a shout-out to THE SUNNY BOYS for letting me "sing" with them! Yeah I'm a regular Carl Wilson for sure

Yes, I certainly enjoyed it. I liked pretty much all the bands I saw, but particular favourites were The Phantom Four, The Psycho Surfers, The Bambi Molesters, Surfer Joe and his Boss Combo, The Bradipos IV and the John Blair Band. I also really enjoyed Doctor Legume et les Surfwerks, which was an unexpected surprise, because I didn't enjoy them much the last time I saw them. Best of all, though, was the opportunity to meet people, either for the first time (Lorenzo, Lucca, Freddyie Ralf and Tom Kilauea, The Bradipos IV...) or again (Andrea from The Manges and his girlfriend Linda, John Blair, The Bambi Molesters...). There was also the great surprise of our good friend Clive from The Surfin' Lungs, who had told us that he wasn't able to come, turning up completely out of the blue on Saturday. All round, a great weekend. It was, however, very windy!
Julie shot some footage, but not had a chance to look at any of it yet. We'll be posting some on YouTube at some point, I should imagine and I'll also be putting a review on HangNine, written more from a performer's perspective than in past years.

Thank you dude !
This time we had good luck with the multimedia player and much more time to prepare all the synth devices on stage
Two years ago we couln't do soundcheck and we got horrible issues with the dvd player, so it was a little ... fuzzy :-/
I'm glad you liked it, we enjoyed a lot to play there and feel a very good feedback from the audience
Hope to see you next time !

I've just noticed a few new SJF 2011 youtube videos, a few more from Freddie.
Should we start a video thread or place them here?

I'm aware Jeff, he was kind enough to upload a few other videos before being hospitalised. I won't place the links here for him but for anyone who would like to see them go to: http://www.youtube.com/user/UnsteadyFreddie
Meanwhile here's the boss himself: Surfer Joe & his Boss Combo.
