Hi everyone!
Has anyone tried out this amp/circuit?
After a long time of thiking wich amp will work the best for me
I decided tu build a replica of this amp. Basically 1/2 of a Showman.
But as always is good to hear some feedback from you SG101'ers.
Does anyone knows how many of this amps were produced by Fender in the early 60's?

Yeah, I've played a couple. I've never been a big fan of 15" speakers in amps that aren't terribly powerful. That is why I was probably never a huge fan of this amp. The harmonic vibrato is a plus. Personally, I'd build the Vibroverb if I was going to make a brown Fender. Or just make the Vibrosonic amp two 10s or four 10s. Or maybe do a Vibroverb and put harmonic trem in it?

There's so much to the mix I guess..I know what Jake means but that said, I've been playing the heck out of a Gomez G-Reverb at club dates all through Winter and Spring...about 15 +/- watts through a JBL d-130f and it sounds awesome..yes, I am biased Big Grin

The Vibrasonic was built for five years ('59 through '63) according to Sprung and Teagle. It was the most expensive "combo" amp during that time period. Even though it only had two power tubes, it was reportedly one loud clear amp with its huge output transformer and JBL D-130. I think it would be a cool project. The vibrato itself is well worth the effort.

Eddie Katcher sez: 12 inch speakers are cool............15" speakers rule.

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

thank you guys.
yes I was thinking that with that huge power transformer and 15" speaker, but only 2 output tubes ... this amp may be a power waist.

but .. after reading some articles, they all mention this is a super clean sounding amp, and by having that massive trannie and speaker, but having only 40-50W of output power it gives you a perfect backup and a really nice quality sound.
