WoodyJ Joined: Apr 05, 2006 Posts: 1547 Bethlehem, GA	Posted on Jun 11 2011 11:16 AM I was there, a totally PACKED house at The Earl. Dick was in a great mood and played his ass off. Ron Eglit was on bass and did his usual superb job, as did Dick's son Jimmy on drums. Back in the late 90's I remember Dick bringing Jimmy onstage to play a kid-size drum kit along with Dusty Watson. Jimmy was maybe 5 or 6 years old at the time and even then showed some drumming skill. But last night he REALLY made his old man proud. Damn, that kid has quick hands...and feet. Laramie Dean put on a good show as well. I'm not a fan of punk/thrash surf but he had some interesting "turbocharged" versions some of the classics like Surf Rider, Mister Moto and Pipeline. Laramie has terrific stage presence. I'd never seen him before and it was a fun experience. He seems like a really nice guy as well. BTW, Jimmy Dale was playing drums for Laramie as well. Killer! And tonight, at the same venue...Los Straitjackets and Dave Alvin! I've seen LSJ a dozen times but this will be the first time I've seen them with Teen Beat (Jason) on drums and whoever is subbing for Danny Amis. There were many great friends in the packed crowd, and the music was all top notch. Dick still puts on a great show, that's for sure! Laramie Dean did a wonderful job getting everybody charged up with a killer, high energy set. Made a point to chit chat with him a bit afterwards, and he's a super cool guy to boot.
