What is the percussion effect? Sounds like someone is sawing a board or filing something. The sound of waxing?

surely that is sawing something,
but I bet its supposed to emulate waxing a board.
but to me it reminds me of sawing the bottom of the x-mas tree every year.

Interesting, I guess it's a musical saw. 
I like interesting percussion stuff, but this one seems to need some additional explanation. Shaping?
