Brian,
Have you ever considered expanding the number of currently active "LATEST FORUM POSTS" forum posts on the Home Page? Maybe from 10 to 15 or so? I find myself constantly following recent posts, but having to pull up old ones that have been bumped. Just an idea.

On the main forum index, there is a drop box above the forums. Select "Show active topics" and hit go. The last 30 active topics will be displayed.

I tried 1000000 to see if I could slow the server down. Yeah, it is 50.
