The Luau Cinders

The Whiskey will have music on two floors and has been good enough to add staff to open bars on both floors. Surf will be "always on" with the bands playing during breaks/change overs on the other stage. We are thrilled to have 7 great bands at Surfapalooza in its second year. This is a very positive sign for the future of the event. You will be able to wander up and down at will and spend time watching each band. So finding a pee break may be challenging.

Hope to see you all there dancing with All Systems A Go Go, tossing Land Shark beers back, listening to DJ Bump spin some great instro rock. & hearing a real variety of surf/instro music.

We're also planning a final "jam" of Wipeout or some other perfunctory well known surf song! Cool

SURFAPALOOZA ANNAPOLIS 2011 band lineup:

Diamondheads - Baltimore's Diamondheads are Brian Lavelle, Dave Grauer, Dave Bradley, and Dave Powers. They've been performing together for over ten years and have released 2 CDs of original music, with a 3rd due in June of 2011. Just in time!

Killer Filler - Hillsborough, NC’s Killer Filler plays a royal mix of 60’s inspired surf, soul, & lounge, fronted by goofball organist/guitarist Crispy Bess and Stoic guitar master Bryon Settle. Picture a three-way cross between the Ventures, Booker T & the MG’s and Henry Mancini playing a rowdy party, and you’ll know what they’re up to.

Blue Wave Theory - Blue Wave Theory is an instrumental rock band from New Jersey. The group's sound is rooted in surf music of the 1960s, but sometimes incorporates other genres including elements of garage, funk, and punk.

Atom Bumz – The Annapolis based Atom Bumz bring you The Endless Summer blended with the edge of Pulp Fiction. Get stoked for some righteous and bitchin' grooves! California surf inspired originals, instrumental rock classics, and always a radioactive dose of Los Straitjackets, because we like it like that.

The Clams - Straight from the beach party of your dreams, The Clams bring the driving sound of 1960s surf rock to parties, clubs and events everywhere. This 3 piece group dishes up instrumental tasty surf classics, Twangy TV and movie themes and original music that sounds halfway between surf music and TV / movie themes.

Hypersonics - The Hypersonics are turning the surf music craze upside down with their blend of reverb drenched covers and originals into what the surf music industry has labeled “Hypermania”. Lead guitarist “Victory” stated “ We just want people to dance and have fun”

Reverb Galaxy - Reverb Galaxy is a Maryland-based surf instrumental band playing exciting, new original surf music based on the traditional 60's sound but injected with dynamic arrangements and a plethora of musical flavors. Whether we're donning our spacesuits with blue flashing shades, or performing in our traditional beach attire, we'll give you a great time!

Plus Dj Bump spinning vinyl from his deep library of surf and instro cuts, , All Systems A Go Go....DTAO, and more. A night of party music!

I'm in!!

My transportation and hotel are locked down

SEE U ALL on June 25th for this what-promises-to-be KILLA Event

Someone let me know in a private message if I can be of any help in some way.

Happy to assist where I can be of some value.

If you need someone to announce bands, keep the flow going between bands' performances, make relevant announcements .... a liaison between the promoter(s), bands, and the audience .... happy to do so

Also in private let me know what the thinking is about shooting videos. The last thing I want to do is have my somewhat 'unconventional style' of shooting videos be a problem. Maybe if I can hold a seat close to the stage where I will simply shoot from the table rather than float back and forth as I often do? {BTW some of the bands performing at this cool event have been videotaped by me somewhere, usually at one of my SURF-ROCK SHINDIGs. Go to http://www.youtube.com/unsteadyfreddie if interested, and drop the bands' names in the search engine within my page.}

Cheers,
