I've already posted on craigslist so I'll copy and paste my posting here. It'd be cool to meet some fellow members from the board so I decided I'd post here too.

"Hey, I'm 20, play lead guitar, attend Temple U, and live in far northeast Philadelphia. Looking to find a drummer, bassist, and rhythm guitarist(/organ possibly?). I'm interested in a lot of music but I really am into surf instrumental music. I am thinking of a very aggressive but melodic sound. I basically want to lay down surf as a foundation and expand and experiment on it. I am also interested in experimenting with dissonance, noise, odd time signatures, etc. I'm hoping to focus more on original material than covers.

You should at least know the basics of music theory (keys, chords, scales, notes etc. nothing too complex. It's just necessary for us to work together a bit quicker) and of course be a decent player but, overall, I value creativity over technical skill in musicianship. Must have good sense of tone and decent gear.

Here's some bands to give you an idea of what I'm into: Man or Astroman? The Jesus Lizard, Don Caballero, The Pixies, They Might Be Giants, Satan's Pilgrims, The Nebulas, Daikaiju, Battles, The Cramps, Dick Dale, The Ventures, Fender IV, The Coachwhips, The Misfits (Danzig era), Hella, Shellac, etc. If you like any of these bands, I think we might work well together.

And I'm not a some kind of bossy elitist frontman. I'm totally aware that this ad may lead you to believe that I am so just trust me on this one. Let me know if you interested and tell me something about yourself."
