Okay, I must admit that guitars are not the only type of musical instrument I've collected. I also have a harmonica collection that, so far, numbers 5, and I've got duplications in the keys of C and G. My first 2 harmonicas were Chicago Blues, one C and one G, then I bought a 3-pack of Lee Oskar harmonicas, in A, C and G. Of course there are 9 other notes (keys) available, along with those keyed major or minor, then I got heavy into the guitars, and...well...I've severely slacked on my harmonica collecting, over the years.
I don't know how weird it is, but for some reason whenever I'm playing on a C harmonica, I'll play "Red River Rock," but when playing on a G harmonica, I'll play "Red River Valley." My guess, here, is that the brightness of a C harmonicas sound is akin to the brighter sound of the Hammond S6 chord organ that "Red River Rock" was recorded with. Otherwise, on C harmonica I'll also play "Piano Man" (Billy Joel) "Psychotic Reaction" (Count Five) and "Outside The Wall" (Pink Floyd). One of my biggest musings (more jokingly, though) about my harmonica playing is, it seems that whenever I play my harmonicas, particularly A and G, the only thing that comes out is church hymns! I also love getting the "chugga-chugga" train sound going, and with a harmonica, I can do a "wah-wah" without needing a pedal.
So, I guess when I have my guitar collection completed, fairly soon, I'll have to return to my former passion, and resume my collecting of harmonicas. And since I'm both planning to begin recording my original music, and get into/form a band this year, I can see a Green Bullet mic in my coming future.
