Permalink 250k and 1meg pots jaguar

New Topic

I have a mij jaguar. I pulled the volume and tone 1meg mini pots in the lead circuit out and put in 250k cts pots in and a orange drop. It did remove alot of the treble but maybe too much. It seems alittle dark. So I got a cts 1meg pot to put back in the circuit. Where would it work best to bring back some of the jaguar sparkle...Volume or tone pot.So I would have a 1meg and a250k and orange drop in the lead circuit. Were should I put back the 1meg pot....

Put back both 1 meg pots and get rid of that Orange Drop cap, those are really terrible and harsh sounding. Use a paper in wax capacitor to smooth out the highs of the 1 meg pots. You'll be surprised how much this will make a difference. Works great for me Big Grin

Great, I will try that. Can you or anyone recomend a paper in wax cap, what would be the best to buy. Thanks agian.....

Capacitor - .05 µF 150V Wax Paper Foil, Alessandro High-End
Handmade wax, paper and foil caps. Made to the same specs as those found in 50s Fender guitars.

You could always try 500k pots - that's what they use in Gretsch guitars, even the ones with single coils.
