Thanks BTD! I wanted to see what a skatepunk (Brian), a garagepunk (Pantichrist) & a surfabilly (JP) would come up with. Thought they all did a great job. I mean, except for JP. —Radio Free Bakersfield--60 Minutes of TWANG, CRUNCH, OOMPH. |

Funny thing, one particular member of this community was the burr in my saddle on this. I mean, he bitched & bitched & bitched & bitched & bitched & BITCHED about a hot rod show. Strangely, haven't heard a fucking word from him since it has been up. Not a "this sucks!"; not a "good job!" Makes me glad I busted my ass coordinating this over 2 states & continents, it does. —Radio Free Bakersfield--60 Minutes of TWANG, CRUNCH, OOMPH. |

Thanks again for jumping in on this, JP. I look forward to your 60+ minute guest hosting gig this summer. With lots of gratuitous profanity. —Radio Free Bakersfield--60 Minutes of TWANG, CRUNCH, OOMPH. |

Oh, I get it, it's a substitution cipher. burr = Spring Sheesh man, it hasn't even been 48 hours since its been up. I really enjoyed it and what really struck me was that a lot of the songs were not what I was expecting. There are easily lots of great songs for Hot Rod Show II —https://www.facebook.com/index.php?lh=9353f9155b5ff32e14c998495fd00da4&#!/rich.derksen.7 |

Cool man. I figured having musicians from different genres might avoid the obvious & give a different perspective. Yes, there is plenty left for BTD & his busy beaver partner to bring to the proverbial table whenever they get around to it. —Radio Free Bakersfield--60 Minutes of TWANG, CRUNCH, OOMPH. |

John McCrea owes everything about his greatest single to Arlen Sanders. Great show boys! Thoroughly enjoyed all 3 sets. JP, heads up --- the Chicken Shack archives AAC version doesn't like to be streamed or downloaded for playback on a Mac w/ Safari. MP3 Stream link doesn't work either, but clicking the link to download the MP3 version does actually open and plays it on Mac / in a Safari window. Could just be my machine, but the RFB episodes streams & downloads just fine (examples: here) —Fady El Mirage @ ReverbNation Last edited: Mar 31, 2011 21:43:54 |

Que? JFA Brian thinks Arlen swiped the Astronauts' (I think) "Movin" for the tune & I know for a fact the lyrics are pretty much "Hot Rod Lincoln."
Gracias! I thought they all kicked ass...except for JP's Chicken Shack feed. I had problems the first time myself. —Radio Free Bakersfield--60 Minutes of TWANG, CRUNCH, OOMPH. |

I stand corrected! John McCrea owes his success to Charlie Ryan and The Livingston Brothers (seem's thats the original Hot Rod Lincoln from '55 having done some googlin and whatnot - but who knows, ya can never entirely trust the interwebz!) See... all the more validation in doin' the show. Folks like me got lots to be schooled on. And yeah - Arlen definitely swiped Movin. —Fady El Mirage @ ReverbNation |
