FWIW most of the people I know who self-released their music went with Diskmakers and had nothing but positive things to say.

Last 10 or so CDs I've done with these nice people: Buy Endless Drummer @ Bandcamp |

Ferenc, I compared CDExperts to DiscMakers looking for 4panel wallet style packages. DiscMakers came out $360 cheaper for 1000 discs. That's pretty substantial. —Danny Snyder I am now playing trumpet with Prince Buster tribute band 'Balzac' Playing keys and guitar with Combo Tezeta Formerly a guitarist in The TomorrowMen and Meshugga Beach Party Latest surf project - Now That's What I Call SURF |

I'd like to see the exact same product made by both companies. Is a 8 dollar pizza from Little Ceasers the same as a 26 dollar pizza from an Italian restaurant? Jeff(bigtikidude) Last edited: Mar 29, 2011 22:50:55 |

If you're looking for a short run of cd's on a budget i would check out www.kunaki.com. That's what we've used for The High Five Revival CD and it works great. — |

What's the difference between Replicated and Duplicated? Is a replicated CD like an actual high quality disc and duplicated being like a CD-R? Duplicated discs are cheap but is the audio quality affected somehow? Just wondering... — |

I don't know if they'll match it, but you might ask Zoran at CD Experts if they can match Discmasters price (wouldn't hurt to drop Ferenc's or my name as well). I just like working with smaller companies - I didn't have a very good experience with Discmasters with my very first CD project - that was 13 years ago though. I'll definitely do that Sean, I always prefer using smaller companies if I know the results and cost are comparable.

I think they are real close. You can make one up and they'll send it to you for free to check out. So while you're waiting to get the "real" record done you can make up a fake one and have them send it to you so you know. Just an idea. — |

we've worked with wonderdrug here in boston. Ken has always done a great job for us. they do have a "special" which is 100 discs (burned) with a jacket inserted into a vinyl sleeve. not bad for promo type, but doesn't look as official. but they can do the usual packages etc. I'm sure many of the other small places would be equally good. I'm opposed to discmakers mainly because they are swallowing up all the competition, but not being totally transparent about it. Oasis is discmakers, CDbaby is discmakers, but on first glance you think they are still separate entities. plus I had a friend get 1000 CDs with no printing on the spine & total pain to redo. —Matt Heaton & the Electric Heaters |

I believe we are going to give this company a try. The price is right and, besides the lack of clear trays, they seem to be right in line with everyone else we have looked into. I hope the quality is decent. It would be a shame to waste the wonderful artwork Mr. Detrich did. —THE KBK ... This is the last known signal. We offer Sanctuary. www.thekbk.com |
