I shot a video of BILL TURNER and his band BLUE SMOKE at a place called MOUNTAIN WEST in West Milford NJ on Sunday March 13 2011

I went to this place with "RATTLESNAKE RALPH" of THE OCTOMEN

BILL TURNER is a legend, and he played with BILL HALEY & THE COMETS in the 1970's

Turns out BILL TURNER is a big fan of intro surf-beat, and made some recordings (who knew? I didn't!). I just got in the mail a CD with 'Instrumental Samples' -- 2 songs: 'CHARMED AND DANGEROUS' and 'WEEKEND'

We first spoke during a band break, and discussed "surf" music for a while. He started his next set with 'SLEIGH RIDE', and performed in the same way THE VENTURES and LOS STRAITJACKETS do.
