For those in SoCal its worth a drive to Carlsbad on a Satuday morning to check out the place, and don't miss the acoustic section. Posted on Mar 18 2011 05:43 PM Has anyone had success (or a horrible failure) waxing the bodies with a wax that contains a UV shield? The darker color green paint looks oxidized (the bright tones faded by the UV in sunlight or florescent lights). I never thought of that before until just now. I swapped out the maple neck and pups from my old Strat and bought a used Fender 50s surf green body.
