Trey - thanks for the link - much appreciated!

Just finished listening to this great set from the Deadbeats - epic! And thanks for the mention of the KFJC Surf Battle coming up on May 14.

So should we put an IRC listening party on the calendar for this weekend?

Thanks for the nice comments folks. We had a pretty fun time despite the long, long wait. I hope all of you enjoy the recordings Trey has posted. Thanks again.

The Deadbeats

Yeah, I bugged out around the 10th inning. I'm pretty much a lightweight anymore when it comes to staying up. Good for you guys for hanging in there--you seemed to take it in stride and I thought the interview part was really good too.

I want to thank Trey too for saving this.

Trey saved the day! Worship

Here's a setlist, for anyone who's wondering... or for the upcoming packed-house listening party.

Gooch in Space
A-Rab (the Jesters)
Brass Knuckle Sandwich
No Nisei Masuwha?? I forget the name (Yuzo Kayama)
Hagbelly
Ginza Lights (Ventures)
still no name - new original
Everybody Up! (Fender IV)
Obey
Dark March
Tokyo Drifter (Born Losers)
Heavy Pet (open to suggestions for a name haha)
Planet of the Apehangers (Bomboras)
Janky Jank
Que Honda? (Satan's Pilgrims)

This was an awesome show - thanks for making this recording available! A great set from the Deadbeats, great originals and covers, and thanks for mentioning the new issue of the Continental at the end!

"Los Angeles No Nisei Matsuri?" NICE. Great cover choices throughout!

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

Great set fellas! Finally got a chance to listen. I love the guitar tone on Los Angeles No Nisei Matsuri and the new original is very cool! I'm loving the fuzz tones! Thanks for making it available Trey!

just finished listening to the whole thing - wow!! You guys sounded PHENOMENAL!! So much energy, such great original songs, and an excellent selection of covers. You have all turned into monster players, too! It's just been awesome to see you grow so much as musicians. So, when are you recording the album????? We need it!!!

BTW, also a wonderful interview - Ben, you're a freakin' natural! (Not too sure about that 'DJ', though - does he know what he's doing? Hmmm....) Thanks very much for the shout-out to the Madeira, too, you totally made my day! And very nice plugs for SG101 and The Continental, plus all the great Bay Area surf bands. You definitely covered the whole shebang!

Trey, you rule! Thank you VERY much for recording this and making it available to the rest of us!

So has everyone listened to it yet? Is there still interest in a weekend listening party in IRC?

Thanks dude, that one was for you. I never did send you a recorded version of us playing that one. It's my favorite song to cover. And no it's not because it starts with the bass.

Thanks again Juan. I gotta say that really got us all juiced to play another song. Thanks again for the comments guys.

I was holding out for an IRC listening party, and we can still do that, but I finally got some time and gave this a listen (thanks Trey!).

Wow you guys were amazing! Put that out as a live album! I loved all the covers and the originals. Great stuff, and wow, what a rhythm section you have.

Thanks so much for the shout-out, you really made my night! I hope I can meet you guys some day. Now go get that album made!

Ahem..
Brian they will be at the SG101 convention this year.
wink wink, Wink

Maybe the EP (being worked on) could be half studio tracks,
and half live, and be a whole cd.
